I think [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] and [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] are a little matchy and makes [name_f]Vera[/name_f] look like the odd-one-out, so I voted for [name_f]Francine[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f].

[name_f]Francine[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] could work too.

The x is something I’m debating about. However your name and your identity aren’t tied to your siblings. You live most of your life with most people not ever interacting with your siblings and you at the same time.

Plus [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] is our oldest so they will be a few grades apart.

I agree with you on the sibling thing, normally I don’t think it matters whether sibling names ‘match’ or not, me and my siblings certainly don’t match and we’re just fine!

But when two match and the other doesn’t, it may make one feel like the odd one out - [name_f]Vera[/name_f] may wonder why she doesn’t have an ‘x’ name like her sisters. [name_m]Just[/name_m] food for thought I’m not saying this will absolutely be the case, of course!

I’m an only child so I have no personal experience with this but I seriously hope that wouldn’t be an issue! I’m sure there will be more pressing things for them to question. Like why one has more pink shirts or pairs of shoes.

I like the name [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] much more than [name_f]Francine[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]-- it seems stronger and more distinctive. [name_f]Francine[/name_f] always seems a little insubstantial to me, like a name for a [name_m]French[/name_m] poodle, whereas [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] is tough and glamorous.

I hesitate too due to the similarity with big sister [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f], but the ending sounds are different enough.

And if I may say so-- you gave a rather spirited defense of [name_f]Maxine[/name_f]. Are you sure it’s not your secret favorite? Have you heard the coin toss trick? Assign heads to [name_f]Maxine[/name_f], tails to [name_f]Francine[/name_f], flip a coin, and before you peek-- which one are you hoping it is?

I love [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]. But you and I have very different styles. I prefer [name_f]Maxine[/name_f], but it is pretty close to [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f].

Ha! I like both names. And I’m not 100 percent on either of them so I can defend them equally as well. I just don’t want the decision to be decided on things that won’t even cross their minds as adults. I want to decide based on the name itself.

Thanks for the comments! The [name_m]French[/name_m] poodle one made me laugh.

I like [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and I think [name_f]Maxine[/name_f], [name_f]Vera[/name_f], and [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] can work as a sibset. They all feel like bold, substantial, names-- [name_f]Francine[/name_f] is the odd name out. I do like [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] as a nn with [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] and [name_f]Vera[/name_f]-- do you like [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] at all?

I like both names but I think [name_f]Francine[/name_f] is the better option with older sisters named [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] and [name_f]Vera[/name_f].

I voted for [name_f]Maxine[/name_f]. I love that name and I’m surprised it’s not more common. It’s so fun and funky.

I don’t think you need to worry too much about sisterly jealousy. I think as namenerds, we put way more thought into than the average person. All my sisters and I have really different style names and none of us have ever felt slighted that we didn’t have one like our sister.

I totally agree with you about putting too much thought into names. It has been a real struggle to name this third child and it shouldn’t be and all because of these factors I’m considering that probably aren’t even relevant! Oh well. We are close at least which is good.

Thanks so much for your comments.

I’m noticing that a lot of comments are for [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] but most of the votes are for [name_f]Francine[/name_f]. If any of you [name_f]Francine[/name_f] voters would care to share your opinion that would be helpful.

Thanks!

Neither name is my style but [name_f]Francine[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] flows the better out of the two.

[name_f]Maxine[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]!

I personally have never loved the [name_u]Fran[/name_u] family, with [name_f]Francine[/name_f] being one of my least favourites, and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is gorgeous. The nickname options for both [name_f]Francine[/name_f] and [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] are stark; [name_f]Franny[/name_f]/[name_u]Frankie[/name_u] aren’t attractive, and [name_u]Maxi[/name_u] is a dress style.

I voted for [name_f]Maxine[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]. It’s a lovely name and I think it works well with your daughters names.

We won’t use a nickname…and if they decide to go by a nickname later on then that is their choice. I don’t mind [name_u]Max[/name_u] but like I said, it won’t be up to us anyway.

For [name_f]Francine[/name_f] I was more leaning towards [name_f]CeCe[/name_f]. I hear it on [name_m]New[/name_m] Girl and I don’t mind it on an adult. But again, not really relevant.

Thanks for the comments!

It seems people are divided as to whether or not it actually goes with [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f]…so thank you!

I just wanted to bump this up to see if I could get some more feedback today.

I voted for [name_f]Francine[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]! I am so in love with that name!
