[name]Silas[/name] [name]Augustine[/name] arrived on 4-12-12 weighing 8lbs 4oz, and 22" long.
The long-awaited baby! At 41wks 6days I went into labor …VBAC didn’t pan out and eventually had a c-section after 12hrs without progress.
I did at last prevail and got to name him [name]Silas[/name]. Thank you to all the berries who were on the naming journey with me. We compromised and used [name]Augustine[/name] (DH wanted [name]Augustus[/name]) in the middle so the mn would be 3-syllables, would allow DH to use nn “[name]Gus[/name]”, and be meaningful even though it isn’t a family name (I wanted family name Ehrhardt). I’m so happy to finally have my little [name]Silas[/name] in my arms!!!
Congratulations! [name]Silas[/name] [name]Augustine[/name] is lovely, and I’m so glad to hear you got your [name]Silas[/name] in the end. [name]James[/name] and [name]Silas[/name] are dashing together!
Congratulations and best wishes! I love both names, [name]James[/name] and [name]Silas[/name]. I have a 17-year-old brother named [name]Silas[/name] [name]Mitchell[/name], and I can assure you the name wears well.
Berries, I just have to say that I am so tickled that I got to name our baby [name]Silas[/name]. It makes me smile when I think about his name (and when I think about him too of course!). For both me and my DH the name [name]Silas[/name] was a blank slate-- no one we know is named [name]Silas[/name] or has any children named [name]Silas[/name]. There are no smudges left by others on this name (but DH thought it was a weird name and didn’t like it at all). Well, obviously.I [name]LOVE[/name] the name and DH acclimated to it after watching a few seasons of Weeds on netflix (granted not the greatest name association). I was worried that he wouldn’t come around, but since the birth he hasn’t complained about the name at all. I hope our adorable baby has made the name grow on him! I [name]LOVE[/name] the combo [name]James[/name] [name]Hamilton[/name], but didn’t get a choice about naming our first son [name]James[/name], it was honor-bound-set-in-stone that DH would name his first son after his dear grandfather. [name]James[/name] wouldn’t have been my first choice, but of course now the name is exactly right, he IS [name]James[/name]. I think the same will go for [name]Silas[/name].
I’m rambling… But so happy and blessed!
Congrats on your fashionably late son [name]Silas[/name] [name]Love[/name] his name and I think it works very well with [name]James[/name]. It’s so sweet to read how much you love your boys names! You aren’t rambling, you are blessed momma! Enjoy the “babymoon”
