Our baby girl is due in [name]May[/name] and we have finally decided on her name-to-be - we love [name]Amelie[/name]. Would love to pronounce it the French way ([name]Ah[/name]-[name]May[/name]-[name]Lee[/name]) but as we live in the UK, we don’t want to be correcting people all the time so will just go with Am - ily.
I also love the name [name]Lili[/name] -do you think her nn could be [name]Lili[/name]? or [name]Lee[/name]-[name]Lee[/name]? I don’t necessarily want to shorten such a pretty name but it would be nice to have a nn.
My mum chose [name]Mirabelle[/name] as her middle name - what do you think? [name]Amelie[/name] [name]Mirabelle[/name].
[name]Amelie[/name] [name]Mirabelle[/name] is really sweet!
It actually reminds me of my best friend (she passed away last [name]December[/name]). Her name was [name]Amelie[/name] [name]Marcheline[/name]. When I was trying to type out your name I almost typed out hers instead. I think [name]Lili[/name] is a really cute nn! [name]How[/name] are you saying it? More like [name]Lily[/name], or like [name]Lee[/name]-[name]Lee[/name]? Either way, I love it. My friend always pronounced it like ah-MILL-ee, with the nn [name]Millie[/name], and she was from [name]Paris[/name]… but I have a friend in the UK who pronounces it like AM-ily, too, so it does make sense that that would be easiest in the UK.
Congratulations on picking a name, and good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!
love your choice! I also like it better as [name]Amelie[/name] than [name]Amelia[/name].
[name]Amelie[/name] [name]Mirabelle[/name] is adorable. and lili is a cute nn for amelie.
