After what felt like forever we are finally expecting baby #2! I couldn’t be more excited and of course I haven’t stopped searching for the perfect future name since our son was born!
We won’t know for another 6 weeks what the gender is but I want to have some final names set for both sexes before then.
So far from the lists I have shared with SO I think we have our boys names narrowed down to [name_u]Reed[/name_u] or [name_m]Ryder[/name_m]!
Our first born’s name is [name_m]Weston[/name_m], with we love and we are looking for something just as masculine and strong with a common feel yet not too popular.
What are your opinions on [name_u]Reed[/name_u] vs [name_m]Ryder[/name_m] and do you have any better suggestions?!
Thanks!
Congrats! I’m not a fan of either name, but [name_u]Reed[/name_u] is my pick of the two.
[name_m]Weston[/name_m] and [name_u]Tate[/name_u]
[name_m]Weston[/name_m] and [name_m]Silas[/name_m]
[name_m]Weston[/name_m] and [name_m]Reno[/name_m]
[name_m]Weston[/name_m] and [name_u]Gray[/name_u]
[name_m]Weston[/name_m] and [name_u]River[/name_u]
[name_m]Weston[/name_m] and [name_m]Levi[/name_m]
[name_m]Weston[/name_m] and [name_m]Rigby[/name_m]
[name_m]Weston[/name_m] and Rone/[name_u]Roan[/name_u]
[name_m]Weston[/name_m] and [name_m]Kale[/name_m]
[name_m]Weston[/name_m] and [name_m]Ransom[/name_m]
[name_m]Weston[/name_m] and [name_m]Saul[/name_m]
[name_u]Reed[/name_u]. [name_u]Reed[/name_u] is nice, it’s sleek and feels modern without being in the trendy category. It’s a bit of a nature feel which I like.
[name_m]Ryder[/name_m] is not my style at all. It has a hyper - masculine feel that I’m not attracted too.
I think [name_u]Reed[/name_u] is the better choice. [name_m]Weston[/name_m] and [name_m]Ryder[/name_m] feels overtly cowboy-ish. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, if that’s what you’re going for. It’s just a little on the nose. [name_u]Reed[/name_u] and [name_m]Weston[/name_m] still have a kind of rugged feel without hitting you over the head with it. Also, I’m not a fan of appropriating words and then spelling them wrong.
Thanks for the input so far guys!
[name_u]Reed[/name_u] is actually my first choice, although I think [name_m]Ryder[/name_m] is preferred by my SO.
Your input so far is definitely confirming [name_u]Reed[/name_u] as my #1.
@dewdropsandroses - Thanks for the suggestions! [name_u]River[/name_u] was actually on my list but it’s too ‘hippie’ for my SO and [name_m]Silas[/name_m] is our nephews name!
[name_u]Reed[/name_u] is my preference (though I prefer the [name_u]Reid[/name_u] spelling)
Some others
[name_m]Rufus[/name_m]
[name_u]Roscoe[/name_u]
[name_m]Rainer[/name_m]
[name_m]Sutter[/name_m]
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m]
[name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] (kind of sounds like [name_m]Silas[/name_m])
[name_m]Asher[/name_m]
