Finally have a start!

my Fiance and I have finally agreed on 1 name so far for our baby boy names list… we had a long drive and we were discussing names we wanted to honor, and well… we said one name (first and middle, after his grandfather…) and well we liked it… but when we flipped the middle name and first name we liked it… and then it kind of started to grow even though the name is pretty old… so whats the name we agreed on so far…

[name_m]Cecil[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Levy[/name_m] ([name_u]Lee[/name_u]-vee, which is our last name.)

what do you guys think. and what are some possible nicknames?

It’s intriguing! I actually like [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Cecil[/name_m] a bit more, I think, but that’s just me. (I admittedly find it shocking that I’m saying so, because [name_m]John[/name_m] is overused in my family and I’m sick of hearing it, haha. But I love the nn [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and love the idea of [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Cecil[/name_m] being a double-barrel?). I adore [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] and [name_f]Cecile[/name_f] for girls, but hesitate with [name_m]Cecil[/name_m] because of this children’s book I used to read, and there was an evil Uncle [name_m]Cecil[/name_m], and ever since [name_m]Cecil[/name_m] has seemed pretty evil to me, haha! [name_m]Cecil[/name_m] [name_m]Levy[/name_m] is really cool, although I’m worried by all the “L” and “ee” sounds in it. Not bad flow–I just noticed it was pretty heavy in those sounds when I tried to say it out loud. I don’t think it needs to be a dealbreaker if it’s “the” name, though.

Good luck!

Yeah the only person I think of when I think of [name_m]Cecil[/name_m] is [name_m]Cecil[/name_m] the security guard from [name_m]Night[/name_m] at the Museum. which isn’t that bad. it doesn’t bother me too much.

I really like [name_m]Cecil[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m]. I love that you don’t see [name_m]Cecil[/name_m] around much, and it has some cool (historical) associations. I like/say it as Sess-uhl, which I think would sound really good with your surname. [name_m]John[/name_m] rounds it off nicely, and adds to the sophisticated, handsome nature of the name. I prefer it as [name_m]Cecil[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] (and not the other way) as [name_m]Cecil[/name_m] is just far more interesting than [name_m]John[/name_m], although I do love both names. Nicknames are more difficult CJ, maybe, or Cec (Sess), I’m not sure.

I adore [name_m]Cecil[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m]! I like how unexpected yet familiar it is. I think CJ is a great nn option

[name_m]Cecil[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] is really cute and goes really well with [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] [name_m]Paul[/name_m] and the other names that you like!
