BOYS:
[name]Holden[/name]
[name]Bailey[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name]
[name]Milo[/name]
[name]Theodore[/name]

GIRLS:
[name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Camellia[/name]
[name]Zinnia[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name]

  • [name]Kylee[/name]

[name]Love[/name] [name]Jasper[/name] and [name]Theodore[/name], [name]Eloise[/name] and [name]Matilda[/name]!

Anyone else?

I love [name]Jasper[/name]. I would like [name]Holden[/name] if I lived in the US. I could never ever use it here, but I liked it very much when I was in the US fulltime. I love [name]Miles[/name] but [name]Milo[/name] leaves me cold.

I love [name]Camellia[/name] & [name]Zinnia[/name].

Those four are really good. And [name]Scarlett[/name] and [name]Matilda[/name] are okay, just comparatively a bit tired and overworked, at least amongst people I know. I do have a great-great aunt [name]Matilda[/name] (always [name]Tillie[/name]) who was a freakin’ awesome lady, and thus a fondness for [name]Tillie[/name], but I am always looking for another way to get there, if you know what I mean.

They don’t stack up to [name]Camellia[/name] and [name]Zinnia[/name] for being both femme and fresh.

[name]Bailey[/name] lacks weight, to me. I’ve known boy and girl Baileys and I don’t, honestly, particularly admire it on either.

[name]Theodore[/name] and [name]Eloise[/name] are real names and I wouldn’t be all “what have you DONE” or anything like that, but I don’t like them. [name]Eloise[/name] particularly often ends up sounding very nasal in many accents.

stripedsocks - thank you so much for your in-depth response, I really appreciate it

[name]Camellia[/name]/[name]Eloise[/name] are tied a lot of the times in my head and [name]Scarlett[/name] is my boyfriend’s favorite. [name]Zinnia[/name] is definitely super spunky and I love that. [name]Matilda[/name] is at the bottom of my list, but I can’t cut it… It just hits my soft spot.

[name]Holden[/name] is super handsome and [name]Jasper[/name] is growing on me quite a bit. I read a book with a great male character named [name]Bailey[/name] and it just made me fall in love with it. The only thing I have to do is convince the boyfriend it isn’t a preppy girl name, haha. [name]Milo[/name] is very near-and-dear to my heart and I don’t like [name]Miles[/name] much. I went to school with a real jerk named [name]Miles[/name] and that’s all I think of when I hear that name. [name]Theodore[/name] is very much like [name]Matilda[/name], but I really like the nickname [name]Teddy[/name]

All of them are good names. What would the baby’s surname sound like (2 syllables, starts with an O ends with an S)? I might like [name]Zinnia[/name] and [name]Camellia[/name] best in a vacuum but [name]Eloise[/name] might sound best with the surname.

Sorry [name]Holden[/name] reminds me too much of the car though I am Aussie

The name name has three syllables and two of the of them rhyme. It says elle twice and starts with a D. Plus it’s Italian, haha. It’s an odd last name, so it’s hard to always pair things with it. Not like my simple [name]Smith[/name]

I don’t like [name]Bailey[/name]. Especially on a boy! I think of alcohol or a dog’s name. The other ones aren’t too bad. :).

I love [name]Holden[/name] the most, second most fave is [name]Theodore[/name].
I like [name]Camellia[/name]. But I like [name]Camille[/name] better. [name]Cami[/name] would be good as a nickname and [name]Matilda[/name]'s nick name could be [name]Matti[/name]?

I agree with rachelxoxo.

Took the words right out of my mouth, definitely go with one of these four!

BOYS:
[name]Holden[/name] - Meh. Not really a fan. Holding what?
[name]Bailey[/name] - Sorry, this is a dog’s name to me. There were multiple dogs in my neighborhood growing up with this name, and I don’t know any person with it.
[name]Jasper[/name] - [name]Don[/name]'t see the appeal, sorry.
[name]Milo[/name] - Nice!
[name]Theodore[/name] - [name]Love[/name]! Definitely my favorite.

GIRLS:
[name]Eloise[/name] - [name]Love[/name]!
[name]Scarlett[/name] - [name]Love[/name]!
[name]Camellia[/name] - It’s ok… prefer [name]Camilla[/name].
[name]Zinnia[/name] - NMS.
[name]Matilda[/name] - Nice.

I’ve actually heard the whole “dog name” thing for [name]Bailey[/name] before, but I’ve NEVER met a dog named [name]Bailey[/name] and only one person with the name, so I don’t see any problems with it.

I don’t like [name]Camille[/name]/[name]Camilla[/name]/etc. at all  they’re too… [name]Just[/name] NMS I guess.

But as for the nickname suggestions, I’m not a big fan of nicknames at all. Only two of my names have nicknames that I can stand: [name]Eloise[/name] ([name]Lulu[/name]) and [name]Theodore[/name] ([name]Teddy[/name]). Most nicknames in my family aren’t actually name based, like mine. My whole family still calls me [name]Bear[/name]. It used to be [name]Little[/name] [name]Bear[/name], but since I’m six feet tall, I’m not so little, haha.

BOYS:
[name]Holden[/name] - what would his nick name be? i like [name]Jasper[/name], [name]Milo[/name], & [name]Theodore[/name] better.
[name]Bailey[/name] - I like other names you have better but I see where you are coming from. I love the nn [name]Bay[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name] - [name]Love[/name] [name]Jasper[/name].
[name]Milo[/name] - Short and sweet.
[name]Theodore[/name] - a personal favorite. I love [name]Teddy[/name] and [name]Theo[/name].

GIRLS:
[name]Eloise[/name] - pretty sound, vintage & feminine
[name]Scarlett[/name] - strong and feminine. what would her nick name be?
[name]Camellia[/name] - love this! very pretty I’d love to see someone use it
[name]Zinnia[/name] - another underused but awesome flower name! very spunky and cool.
[name]Matilda[/name] - reminds me of the book I read as a child. not my fav but still cute and usable.

[name]Holden[/name]-Not bad. I like it. Potential middle names: [name]Holden[/name] [name]James[/name], [name]Holden[/name] [name]Rhys[/name], [name]Holden[/name] [name]Grey[/name], [name]Holden[/name] [name]Everett[/name].
[name]Bailey[/name]-I actually really like this for a boy. [name]How[/name] about [name]Bailey[/name] [name]William[/name], [name]Bailey[/name] [name]Alexander[/name], [name]Bailey[/name] [name]James[/name], [name]Bailey[/name] [name]Wyatt[/name], [name]Bailey[/name] [name]Thomas[/name], [name]Bailey[/name] [name]Parker[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name]-I [name]LOVE[/name] this! almost went with this for a middle name spot for my next boy but the husband fell in love with [name]North[/name]. I’ll suggest [name]Jasper[/name] [name]North[/name]! I think that’s an amazing combo. Here’s some others: [name]Jasper[/name] [name]Hudson[/name], [name]Jasper[/name] [name]Harrison[/name], [name]Jasper[/name] [name]Greyson[/name], [name]Jasper[/name] [name]Grey[/name], [name]Jasper[/name] [name]Mason[/name], [name]Jasper[/name] [name]Liam[/name], [name]Jasper[/name] [name]Ellison[/name].
[name]Milo[/name]-love this too! Suggestions: [name]Milo[/name] [name]Greyson[/name], [name]Milo[/name] [name]Brady[/name], [name]Milo[/name] [name]Rhys[/name], [name]Milo[/name] [name]Rhett[/name], [name]Milo[/name] [name]William[/name], [name]Milo[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]Theodore[/name]-love this! [name]Theodore[/name] [name]Rhys[/name], [name]Theodore[/name] [name]James[/name], [name]Theodore[/name] [name]Daniel[/name], [name]Theodore[/name] [name]Silas[/name]

[name]Eloise[/name]-ehh it’s okay. Maybe [name]Eloise[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] or [name]Eloise[/name] [name]Violet[/name]?
[name]Scarlett[/name]-well I’m partial since this is my daughter’s name but of course I love! Her middle name is [name]Athena[/name]. But I’ll also suggest [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Joy[/name], [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Juno[/name], [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Avery[/name], [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Juniper[/name], [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Lena[/name] as these were some we were considering.
[name]Camellia[/name]-Not really a fan
[name]Zinnia[/name]-never heard of it but not my taste.
[name]Matilda[/name]-cute. has potential! [name]How[/name] about [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Eden[/name] or [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Willow[/name]?

[name]Just[/name] going to say it again, since I said it once and the next post asked for them, I am NOT a fan of name-based nicknames. So nicknames dont matter. I don’t understand naming your child something only to shorten it to something else, that’s normally not even as great.

Thanks for commenting guys, I REALLY appreciate the feedback

  • [name]Kylee[/name]

Sorry, I guess I didn’t read your post well enough.

It’s fine, haha. I’m not trying to sound mean or anything, I just don’t understand the obsession with being able to break names down. I just was posting for every one else. Sorry!

[name]Holden[/name]- like this name. spunky and modern but with a classic feel, on-trend but not trendy
[name]Bailey[/name]- not a fan on either gender, but worse on a boy. sounds a bit whiny
[name]Jasper[/name]- want to love this name for its old-fashioned charm and distinct sounds (for a boy’s name anyway) but for some reason don’t
[name]Milo[/name]- I know a dog named this so it’s a pet’s name to me, sorry
[name]Theodore[/name]- my favourite of your boys’ names. classic with historical usage, masculine but not macho, and can’t really go out of style [name]IMO[/name].

[name]Eloise[/name]- a bit cutesy and prissy, but okay
[name]Scarlett[/name]- love! snappy sound, spunky yet glamorous. I do think of [name]Scarlett[/name] O’[name]Hara[/name] but I love her and GWTW.
[name]Camellia[/name]- love! don’t have a top 20 but if i did camellia would be on it. pretty and feminine with a soft, gentle feel, yet doesn’t feel insubstantial
[name]Zinnia[/name]- zippy with the Z, i can see its charms but not a fan
[name]Matilda[/name]- growing on me more every time I see it. Like, but will unfortunately always remind me of the character in [name]Agnes[/name] [name]Grey[/name]

[name]Scarlett[/name] is getting popular, and [name]Matilda[/name] already is in the UK, if that matters to you.
