I voted [name_m]Edwin[/name_m], but if you don’t like [name_m]Ed[/name_m]/[name_m]Eddie[/name_m], that will be hard to control as he gets older, even if you call him [name_u]Win[/name_u] at home (cute!). I love this name and think it’s on the right side of nerdy!
Otherwise, my vote would be [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] since you like the long form and have a great nickname picked out! I also think this goes well with [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] if you have a daughter in the future.
From your list I like [name_m]Walter[/name_m] and [name_m]Edwin[/name_m]. I think that [name_u]Wallace[/name_u] has a decent chance of becoming [name_u]Wally[/name_u] as he learns to talk.
[name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] - I love [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] - it feels so sunny, unique but not too out there
[name_m]Edwin[/name_m] - a sweet name and I think [name_u]Win[/name_u] is brilliant.
Your whole list is fantastic. I voted [name_u]Wallace[/name_u], my middle child’s middle name. Funny enough, [name_u]Wallace[/name_u] would have probably been his first name if my cousin didnt have a [name_m]Walter[/name_m] right before our son was born. I’m not a huge fan of [name_u]Wally[/name_u], nor do I hate it. I think both [name_m]Walter[/name_m] and [name_u]Wallace[/name_u] are short enough that they don’t need a nickname… but if you despise [name_u]Wally[/name_u] I wouldn’t use either of those names because as your son gets older he’s going to decide for himself what he goes by. If my son had been [name_u]Wallace[/name_u] I though [name_m]Ace[/name_m] would be a fun nickname.
[name_m]Edwin[/name_m] is great, not too nerdy. I think it’s dignified. [name_u]Win[/name_u] is cute. Again though if you despise [name_m]Ed[/name_m] and [name_m]Eddie[/name_m]… he may someday decide he prefers them.
[name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] is also great. I think it’s less classic more upbeat. Might be your safest option based on nickname preferences. Though you didn’t say how you feel about [name_m]Cy[/name_m]…
I love [name_m]Walter[/name_m]!! If you have a girl in the future, it goes well with [name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
It came down to a tough choice between [name_m]Walter[/name_m] and [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] for me. I’m not so keen on [name_u]Wallace[/name_u] and especially if you don’t want [name_u]Wally[/name_u] nn. [name_m]Edwin[/name_m] does feel a bit nerdy to me, and not a good choice if you don’t like [name_m]Ed[/name_m] or [name_m]Eddy[/name_m]. (I do love [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] and [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] though). [name_m]Walter[/name_m] and [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] both feel cool and edgy in a good way. I voted for [name_m]Walter[/name_m] in the end.
It was between Walter and Cyrus for me; they could both work well with Delphine, but would take her style in different directions. Walter would give Delphine an unusual vintage feel and Cyrus would be an unusual exotic name.
However, Walter could easily be called Wally.
So I chose Cyrus and am suggesting Walter as a middle (if you don’t have one picked out already); that way you could have the fun Cyrus with the nicknanes you love, that’d go perfectly with Delphine, and Walter with its sentimental value as a long-time favourite.
I love [name_m]Edwin[/name_m]! [name_u]Win[/name_u] is great, and he could also be [name_m]Ned[/name_m] or Ted/[name_u]Teddy[/name_u].
Second fave would be [name_m]Walter[/name_m].
I think [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] is perfect for your baby boy as you haven’t complained as yet
It seems like you only really like [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m]
Thanks to everyone for your feedback! Lots of food for thought.
[name_u]Love[/name_u], love [name_m]Walter[/name_m]! [name_m]Edwin[/name_m] is my personal least favorite.
I don’t want to sound mean but I’m voting none here. They are nice names but it doesn’t seem like you’re a big fan of any of them and they don’t really go with Delphine so if you have a girl after this baby or vice versa Delphine will sound out of place. Delphine is what I’d consider a playful classic - it’s a classic , vintage name but not too buttoned up and except for Cyrus all of your names sound very buttoned up.

My favorite, far and away, is [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] (I [name_f]ADORE[/name_f] it; it’s on my own list!), but I think [name_m]Walter[/name_m] works best for a brother to a [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] someday? ([name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] and [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] is really nice, too, though!)
I tie [name_u]Wallace[/name_u] to [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_u]Wallace[/name_u], which is a rather cool association for me, but I can’t really imagine it on a wee one, which is the only reason it’s farther down on my preferences. [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] and [name_u]Wallace[/name_u] is really cool, though!
[name_m]Edwin[/name_m] is interesting. I’m rather picky on [name_m]Ed[/name_m]- names, but the -win ending is lovely, and I love [name_u]Win[/name_u] as a nn, too! All your options are great, but I’d probably rank them [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m], [name_m]Walter[/name_m], [name_u]Wallace[/name_u], then [name_m]Edwin[/name_m].
All the best!
I really like [name_m]Walter[/name_m]. It’s cute in an old man sorta way, but could totally work on a kid! Also, who wouldn’t want to share a name with [name_m]Walt[/name_m] Disney, I mean come on!! ;D
[name_u]Wallace[/name_u] “[name_m]Ace[/name_m]”
Cyrus (my husband could use the nickname Ciro (Italian version), which he loves)
What a great idea! I didn’t vote for [name_m]Cyrus[/name_m] because I don’t like [name_m]Cy[/name_m] (sigh) as a nn.
I did vote for [name_m]Edwin[/name_m], but the 2 NNs I have heard for [name_m]Edwin[/name_m] are [name_m]Ned[/name_m] and Ted. I do like your idea of [name_u]Win[/name_u]!
[name_u]Wallace[/name_u] is a NO for me because the female version [name_u]Wallis[/name_u] sounds just the same.
