Find out your Russian patronymic!

It’s easy (your father’s name + ovna/evna for women and ovich/evich for men).

Some transliterations to help you/

Jack/James/Johannes/Jean/Giovanni/Johan → [name_m]Ivan[/name_m]
Michael/Mika/Michel → [name_m]Mikhail[/name_m]

Mine would be… Lukinishna/Lukinishnov? Since my father has a variation of Luke/Luca/Lukas or Petrovna/Petrov since his name is [name_m]Pietro[/name_m] [name_u]Luca[/name_u] baptised, but his actual name would be [name_u]Luca[/name_u] so… Lukinishna/Lukinishnov

I cheated and looked mine up, but using the Russian variation of [name_u]Timothy[/name_u] (Timofey), mine would be Timofeyevna. Patronymics are so interesting!

it’s v basic, but mikhailovna !!

[name_f]My[/name_f] dads name doesn’t have a Russian variant so I went with the only version that currently ranks in Moscow

Mine would be Umarevna :waxing_crescent_moon:

mine would also be very basic (Petrovna)!

my dad’s name doesn’t have any sort of connection to any russian name, so i did my grandad instead.

it would be grigoryevna!

Stepanova

Ivanovna, not that I would ever take it.

If I were to go by my father figure, I think it would be Bogdanovna.

Djeffrievna

I think mine would be Alanevna or Alanovna

I’d be [name_u]Maria[/name_u] Piotrovna/Petrovna, depending on transcription. [name_u]Super[/name_u] basic.

Natanovna, I think!

i’d be fomaovna! not the most attractive, but that’s what google said thomas translated to <3

Mine is an easy one! It’d be the classic Mikhailovna. (Dad’s name is Michael!)

Mine would be Ivanovna, which is pretty boring.

We use patronymics in Icelandic, and I think mine in Icelandic is also the most common one to ever exist :joy:
