[name]Hi[/name] everyone! I am brand new to Nameberry, and so far I am loving it!
Anyways, I am due in [name]November[/name] with our first little girl and have been struggling to come up with a name that both my husband and I love. I was hoping to get some feedback on our top options so far and possibly some ideas as well.
Here are our current top choices:
[name]Seren[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Holland[/name]
[name]Coraline[/name] or [name]Coralie[/name]
[name]Seren[/name]- I see this as an incomplete [name]Serena[/name]. I don’t care for either, sorry
[name]Juliet[/name]- Like this
[name]Holland[/name]- NMS.
[name]Coraline[/name] or [name]Coralie[/name]- These are alright. I prefer just [name]Cora[/name]
A few suggestions:
Like [name]Seren[/name]: [name]Seraphina[/name], [name]Sabrina[/name], [name]Sela[/name], [name]Saskia[/name]
Like [name]Juliet[/name]: [name]Genevieve[/name], [name]Gwendolyn[/name], [name]Jemima[/name], [name]Jane[/name]
Like [name]Holland[/name]: [name]India[/name], [name]Helena[/name], [name]Holly[/name], [name]Hermione[/name]
Like [name]Coraline[/name] or [name]Coralie[/name]: [name]Cora[/name], [name]Cornelia[/name], [name]Cordelia[/name], [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Adelaide[/name]
I definitely vote for [name]Juliet[/name]. It’s classic but not overused, and super beautiful. I don’t care for [name]Coraline[/name] as, if I’m not mistaken, it was made up for the movie.
I’m not really a fan of [name]Holland[/name], by I love [name]Seren[/name] and [name]Coraline[/name]. I’m so-so on [name]Juliet[/name] and [name]Coralie[/name].
[name]LOVE[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] and [name]Coralie[/name]. I’d second the [name]Rosalie[/name] suggestion, and add [name]Cosette[/name] to the suggestion pile.
I really like [name]Seren[/name]. I’d never heard that name before your post -the meaning is pretty too.
I also really like [name]Coraline[/name] although I imagine that your daughter would forever be correcting people who think her name is [name]Caraline[/name] or [name]Caralyn[/name] -just like in the movie/book. So, I would go with [name]Coralie[/name] instead.
I like [name]Eloise[/name] but it has an odd meaning (healthy; wide).
Other ideas
[name]Adelaide[/name] (I 2nd pp’s suggestion)
[name]Eliana[/name]
[name]Elodie[/name]
[name]Seren[/name]- gas. Could be a nn for [name]Serena[/name], [name]Seraphine[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name]- it’s nice
[name]Holland[/name]- I like this the most
[name]Coraline[/name] or [name]Coralie[/name]- [name]Coraline[/name] is OK
Thanks for all the feedback everyone! [name]Juliet[/name] and [name]Coralie[/name] are my two current faves and [name]Seren[/name] is my husband’s favorite, so he was happy to see people like his choice too!
[name]Seren[/name] – I find this name to be extremely pretty and sweet! I know many associate it with the gas used in chemical warfare though, as it is pronounced the same way. If that bothers you, then some alternatives could be: [name]Serene[/name]/[name]Serena[/name], [name]Wren[/name], Wrenna, and [name]Fern[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name] – Very pretty and classic.
[name]Holland[/name] – Nms. What do you think of [name]Ryland[/name] for a girl? I love the nn [name]Rye[/name].
[name]Coraline[/name] or [name]Coralie[/name] – These are pretty! I prefer [name]Coralie[/name].
