For a boy, I prefer [name_u]Finlay[/name_u]. Great combo!
Edit - One of my ancestors, who came to the US from Scotland, was named Finlay Ross. I think that is why I see it as a strong, masculine spelling. I also prefer Lindsay to Lindsey; to me, this way looks classic - not misspelled. Anyway, it is a fantastic name, no matter how you spell it.
I adore [name_u]Finley[/name_u]! And I really love [name_u]Finley[/name_u] [name_m]Archer[/name_m] together.
Can’t say why exactly, but the [name_u]Finlay[/name_u] spelling is just not as pleasing, to me. It makes me want to say [name_u]Finn[/name_u]-lay instead of [name_u]Finn[/name_u]-lee.
[name_u]Finley[/name_u]! I’ve never been a fan of [name_u]Finlay[/name_u] and it always looks misspelled to me.
I tend to want to pronounce [name_u]Finlay[/name_u] that way too! [name_u]Finley[/name_u] over [name_u]Finlay[/name_u] for me also.
I agree with all of this.
I don’t dislike how [name_u]Finlay[/name_u] looks but it does make me want to say it [name_u]Finn[/name_u]-lay. So I voted for [name_u]Finley[/name_u].
I like both names, but I think [name_u]Finley[/name_u] works best in this combo. The -lay of [name_u]Finlay[/name_u] runs into the a- of [name_m]Archer[/name_m], and I find it annoying.
Exactly this!
I vastly prefer [name_u]Finlay[/name_u].
[name_u]Finlay[/name_u] for a boy. [name_u]Finley[/name_u] makes me think girl, maybe because I know a girl named [name_u]Finley[/name_u]?
Thank you much, everyone.
I much prefer [name_u]Finley[/name_u] spelling, don’t know why. I tend to like the “e” variations more: [name_u]Grey[/name_u], [name_u]Aiden[/name_u]… Still, it’s a very handsome name no matter the spelling.
