I think I prefer [name_u]Finley[/name_u] but do you think that’s associated more with the female version of the name?? Really can not decide! All opinions very welcome!!
I don’t think the [name_u]Finley[/name_u] spelling is associated too much with the female version of the name. If you prefer [name_u]Finley[/name_u], I would definitely use it.
Gender doesnt matter and i prefer [name_u]Finley[/name_u] for either one.
I prefer [name_u]Finley[/name_u]. I don’t think it’s associated with females so I wouldn’t worry about that.
I prefer [name_u]Finlay[/name_u].
I prefer [name_u]Finley[/name_u].
I like [name_u]Finley[/name_u] better. [name_u]Finlay[/name_u] in my head I always think should be said how it looks, [name_u]Finn[/name_u]-lay, which is just weird. I prefer the look of [name_u]Finley[/name_u] too, and I like both for a boy, so I wouldn’t assume either was a girl.
I prefer [name_u]Finley[/name_u] (and strongly prefer it for a boy). I read [name_u]Finlay[/name_u] as “finn-lay” the same way I read [name_u]Lindsay[/name_u] as “lind-say.” That spelling just feels unnecessary to me personally. [name_u]Finley[/name_u] feels cleaner and easier to say. For the record I love [name_u]Finley[/name_u]!
[name_u]Finley[/name_u] is not a “female version” of the name. [name_u]Finley[/name_u] is a boy’s name that has been used on girls, but it doesn’t make it the feminine version or spelling.
I prefer the [name_u]Finley[/name_u] spelling.
I prefer [name_u]Finley[/name_u], I’ve never seen it on a girl so I don’t think it’s at all feminine.
I also prefer [name_u]Finley[/name_u] and think [name_u]Finlay[/name_u] makes me hear/think finn-lay
And It’s not the feminine version
Completely agree with cl0udberry
I definitely prefer [name_u]Finley[/name_u], especially if you intend on using the -lee pronunciation
If you’re going for the -lay pronunciation though, go [name_u]Finlay[/name_u]
I knew a [name_u]Finlay[/name_u] last year and people would say [name_u]Finlay[/name_u] and [name_u]Finley[/name_u] interchangeably…I asked him which pronunciation he preferred to be called, and he somehow didn’t even know which was supposed to be the correct one himself…the [name_u]Finley[/name_u] spelling is much less confusing for people
I prefer [name_u]Finlay[/name_u].
For what it’s worth, [name_u]Finley[/name_u] and [name_u]Finlay[/name_u] should be pronounced the same. Probably closer to the [name_u]Finley[/name_u] spelling, but the ley part is very short.
