Alright. I know I just posted yesterday looking for opinions and suggestions, so I apologize if I’m getting annoying.
What are your thoughts on [name_u]Finley[/name_u]/[name_u]Finlay[/name_u] for a boy?
I was searching through my Pinterest at stuff I had previously saved and rediscovered it. I previously loved it for a girl, but now I’m thinking I would like it very much for a boy. I know that here in the US, it is predominantly used as a girl’s name. So that makes me hesitate, even though it was traditionally a boy’s name.
DH and I are both Adventure Time nerds, so we love the idea of having a little [name_u]Finn[/name_u] running around. I brought up [name_m]Finnegan[/name_m], and he does not like it. [name_u]Finley[/name_u], though, he does.
[name_u]Finley[/name_u] I can see on a baby, a little boy, or even a young man, but I have a hard time picturing it on an older person. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it’s something that will age well, or does it have that immature quality to it?
I think [name_u]Finley[/name_u] is one of the unisex names that genuinely works well for either gender. I would love to hear it on a boy and I think it is fantastic with the sister name. Because it is also a surname name, I would not have any worries about how it would age. I think [name_u]Finley[/name_u] nn [name_u]Finn[/name_u] is a great choice!
I find it pretty unisex, and he’d probably go by the more masculine [name_u]Finn[/name_u] most of the time anyway. [name_u]Finley[/name_u]'s pretty trendy, but if that doesn’t bother you it’s not bad.
Have you considered [name_u]Flynn[/name_u]/[name_m]Finlo[/name_m]/[name_m]Finbar[/name_m]?
I love [name_u]Finley[/name_u] for a boy! I tend to like softer names for boys anyways. It’s one of my top choices if I should ever have a boy and while I have no doubt my family will prefer [name_u]Finn[/name_u], I will call him [name_u]Finley[/name_u] in full because I just think it’s so handsome in full. Much like you, I had it on my girls’ list for a long time but then decided one day that I like it more for a boy.
I love [name_u]Finley[/name_u]! So cute but boyish and distinct
I think [name_u]Finley[/name_u] is great for a boy! [name_u]Finn[/name_u] is an awesome nickname as well. I think it’s hard to picture [name_u]Finley[/name_u] on an older person just because there aren’t older people (yet!) with the name, seeing as it is relatively new in popularity. I think it would definitely age well! If you aren’t sure about it, maybe [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] would be another option?
