Finn Atlas Joshua

Usually not the type to post, but figured I’d throw it out there for initial thoughts from others. Right now the name we’ve landed on for our third baby is -

[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] [name_m]Joshua[/name_m]

My husband’s name is [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] and we used it as a second middle name for our oldest son. Siblings are -

[name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] [name_m]Joshua[/name_m]
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Joelle[/name_f]

[name_m]Just[/name_m] wondering if [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] seems too weird or “nautical” lol. Also does it go with the other kids?

[name_u]Jude[/name_u], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], and [name_u]Finn[/name_u] are all inspired by the band, Anberlin. (We’re very music oriented) So that’s one reason for [name_u]Finn[/name_u], to kind of continue that along that line. I also just don’t have many other names that I’m in love with. I have liked [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] for a long time, but I don’t know about it for a first name. The 3rd baby is much harder for some reason. Also - planning for this to be the last baby, I’m planning to get a tubal.

Is there a reason you want to use [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] again? Unless it has some significance beyond being dad’s first name, I would drop [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] and go for [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m]. [name_u]Jude[/name_u], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], and [name_u]Finn[/name_u] are great together!

I think [name_u]Finn[/name_u] goes great with your other kids’ names and [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] is a handsome combo. It really didn’t even occur to me that both names are kind of nautical. I don’t think the connection is all that obvious.

I do agree with southern.maple that it seems a little strange to me to use [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] a second time. If it’s just that you don’t want this son to feel left out not being named after dad, I might look into other family names to use instead. Obviously up to you though! [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] is a very nice name if you do decide to go with that.

I really like [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m]. I don’t like it with [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] because you already used the name and it doesn’t have the same vibe.

I quite like the combination, however I don’t really see the point in using [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] again. Unless there is a particular reason to use it again, I would find another name. Iy kind of coms across as “we couldn’t think of anything new, so that’ll do” (not that that was your reasoning, I hope you get what I mean)

I love [name_m]Atlas[/name_m], and quite like [name_u]Finn[/name_u].

I like it. Kind of agree that [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] is great though, no need to use [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] again unless you want too

[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] is gorgeous! Good choice. I also would not re-use [name_m]Joshua[/name_m], unless if you have a particular reason.

If it’s a family tradition for boys to have dad’s name as a middle, I don’t see a problem with reusing [name_m]Joshua[/name_m]. [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] is a lovely name. I know a family with two sons and both of them have the same middle name as their father. It’s not a big deal.

But it might be nice to find another family name, maybe a masculine version of your name if possible (if you didn’t use yours on your daughter) or a grandfather’s name perhaps.

[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] is a sweet name, though.

All of this.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Finn[/name_u] and [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] goes so well. I also considered [name_m]Atlas[/name_m]. Definitely a great combo.

I just realised I have [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] [name_u]Finn[/name_u] in my signature. Obviously love the combo haha

Thanks everyone! We like the idea of having the dad’s name as a middle name for all the boys (it’s a tradition in some families/cultures) but am not set on that. I think also I was thinking to add it because of the flow into our last name. But we’ll see.

Thanks!
