Hello there
We are having our baby boy in 6 days! [name]One[/name] of the boy names we like is [name]Finn[/name]. Which version do you prefer most and why?
Thank you!
I think I like [name]Finnian[/name] best–probably because I like the name [name]Finn[/name], [name]LOVE[/name] the name [name]Ian[/name], and think the flow of [name]Finnian[/name] is lovely! Also, looks much more masculine than [name]Finlay[/name], [name]IMO[/name]. [name]Finnegan[/name], while I really like it, immediately makes me think: '[name]Finnegan[/name]‘s [name]Rainbow[/name]’ and the phrase ‘[name]Finnegan[/name] Begin-again’. Best!
We went for [name]Finn[/name], but I know wish we had gone for Torfinn, [name]Griffin[/name] or Finnbjorn.
Of your list I prefer [name]Finnian[/name] or [name]Finn[/name] best.
I like [name]Griffin[/name] the most which you don’t have listed.
From your list, I like [name]Finnian[/name], then [name]Finnegan[/name], then just [name]Finn[/name].
I like [name]Finley[/name] the best but I feel that will go to the girls and seems very unisex. If you are ok with that, then my vote goes to [name]Finley[/name]. If you would rather go masculine, I think [name]Finn[/name] feels strong and masculine. [name]Finnian[/name] and [name]Finegan[/name] are nice but a little fussy so I like [name]Finn[/name] because its short, sweet, and solid!
I like [name]Griffin[/name]/[name]Griffon[/name] and Phineus, depending on what kind of mood you’re going for.
(Rated fav to least)
1-[name]Finnian[/name]- [name]LOVE[/name]
2-[name]Finn[/name]
3-[name]Finley[/name]
4-[name]Finlay[/name]
5-[name]Finnigan[/name]
6-Phineus- Can’t stand the look/sound
You seem to like [name]Finn[/name] so I say just go for [name]Finn[/name]!
[name]Griffin[/name] and [name]Finnian[/name] are my favorites!
[name]Phineas[/name] is my favorite (with this spelling), because [name]Aaron[/name]'s grandson [name]Phinehas[/name] was a Biblical hero and because I like its old-fashioned, masculine feeling. (And its sound!) However, if you love [name]Finn[/name] by itself, I’d say name him [name]Finn[/name]. Congratulations and best wishes!
Either [name]Finn[/name] by itself or [name]Phineas[/name]. My vote would be to just use [name]Finn[/name] by itself, it’s a great choice.
If you are going to call him [name]Finn[/name], then I would name him [name]Finn[/name]. [name]Love[/name] it.
Urgh, I love them all! [name]Finnegan[/name] and [name]Phineas[/name] (or possibly even just [name]Finn[/name]) appeal to me the most right now, although I used to absolutely love [name]Finley[/name]! I love the [name]Finlay[/name] spelling right now, too. I would probably pick [name]Finnegan[/name] just because I’m not crazy about the Hophni and [name]Phineas[/name] (sp?) association–[name]Eli[/name]'s sons in the Bible were irresponsible, disrespectful, crass, etc., and I wouldn’t really want that sort of role model for my son. I do absolutely love the sound of [name]Phineas[/name], though! If it weren’t for the Biblical association that would totally get my vote. I’d actually considered using it ([name]Spencer[/name] [name]Phineas[/name] [name]Gray[/name]) when I remembered who the Biblical [name]Phineas[/name] was.
Good luck!
Oh yes I forgot about Hophni and [name]Phineas[/name]. I do like just [name]Finn[/name] but we have a one syllable surname starting with K, so not sure if its too short.
[name]Finnian[/name] is my favourite, but I think [name]Finn[/name] can stand alone.
Oooh, is this [name]Phinehas[/name] different from [name]Eli[/name]'s [name]Phineas[/name]? [name]Do[/name] you know where I could find the Biblical reference? I absolutely love [name]Phineas[/name] but [name]Eli[/name]'s [name]Phineas[/name] just leaves a bit to be desired.
I like [name]Finnian[/name] and [name]Finley[/name] best
Here is the wikipedia summary: Hophni and Phinehas - Wikipedia
I prefer [name]Finn[/name] and [name]Finley[/name] as they seem the most masculine and strong out all of them. But overall I just really like the name
I like [name]Finn[/name]! It’s really popular in Europe.
