Finn or Fynn spelling?

After months of deliberation and lots of disagreeing with DH, he suggested [name_u]Finn[/name_u] for our boys name for third baby and I think we have a winner! Note: gender is a surprise, if a girl she will be [name_f]Poppy[/name_f].

Not after opinions on the name, just the spelling. I prefer [name_u]Finn[/name_u], hubby thinks [name_m]Fynn[/name_m], but I feel in Australia people will constantly spell it incorrectly. WDYT?

Older siblings are [name_u]Indiana[/name_u] and [name_u]Tully[/name_u], and I really like how the names all flow together.

Also middle name suggestions? Surname starts with E and is two syllables.
So far I have:
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Louis[/name_m] (pronounced Louie)
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] (family name)
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_u]Jovi[/name_u]

I would go for the spelling with an i.
[name_u]James[/name_u] works great as the middle name!
Other ideas:
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_u]Milo[/name_u]

I think [name_u]Finn[/name_u] feels more straightforward - it’s the one I’d guess if asked to spell Finn/Fynn without hearing it - and [name_m]Fynn[/name_m] could be misread as [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] maybe?

I like [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Louis[/name_m] and [name_u]Finn[/name_u] Jovi!!

If I was to suggest some:

[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_u]Leander[/name_u]
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_u]Jasper[/name_u]
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Apollo[/name_m]
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_u]Atlas[/name_u]
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Hamish[/name_m] (variant of James)
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] Jacoby/Jacobi (variant/same meaning as James)
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Amadeus[/name_m]
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_u]Jameson[/name_u]
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u]
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_u]Bowie[/name_u]

I actually really like the [name_m]Fynn[/name_m] spelling, especially with your set! With older sibling [name_u]Indiana[/name_u], the in of [name_u]Finn[/name_u] and the in of [name_u]Indiana[/name_u] feel a bit weird together (not an issue, it just bothers me a bit ) – but [name_m]Fynn[/name_m] solves that problem.

Both spellings are great though!

[name_u]Finn[/name_u] is definitely the more intuitive spelling imo. If he really wants the y, then I would suggest [name_u]Flynn[/name_u].

I’m certainly inclined to say [name_u]Finn[/name_u] for his spelling ease as he grows up (correcting people is tiresome and irritating)! I like the [name_m]Fynn[/name_m] spelling in your sibling set, too, but ultimately I think it’s [name_u]Finn[/name_u] for me.

All of your middle ideas are lovely!
I’ll suggest…
[name_u]Presley[/name_u]
[name_m]Leonid[/name_m]
[name_m]Harvey[/name_m]
[name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m]
[name_m]Jones[/name_m]
[name_u]Monroe[/name_u]
[name_u]Valentine[/name_u]
[name_u]Harper[/name_u]
[name_u]Zephyr[/name_u]
[name_m]Ulysses[/name_m]
[name_m]Amadeus[/name_m]
[name_m]Geordie[/name_m]
[name_u]Wesley[/name_u]
[name_m]Byron[/name_m], [name_m]Myron[/name_m]
[name_m]Mathis[/name_m]
[name_m]Zaccai[/name_m]
[name_m]Morris[/name_m]
[name_u]Davy[/name_u]
[name_m]Olson[/name_m]
[name_u]Merit[/name_u]
Hollyhock
[name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m]
[name_u]Valor[/name_u]

[name_u]Finn[/name_u] - hands-down.

I don’t love [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] as much, but both [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_u]Jovi[/name_u] and [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Louis[/name_m] are great.

[name_u]Finn[/name_u], [name_m]Fynn[/name_m] looks strange to me

[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Louis[/name_m] is probably the best of the options

[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_u]Mason[/name_u]

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Louis[/name_m] :white_heart:

[name_m]Fynn[/name_m] makes me thing too much of [name_u]Flynn[/name_u]

I like it with the i more! [name_m]Fynn[/name_m] I keep thinking it’s [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] and wanting to add the L in there. [name_u]Finn[/name_u] I think is more commonly used at least in my area.

[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] is my favorite option!

I prefer [name_u]Finn[/name_u], but [name_m]Fynn[/name_m] is also great, especially with your sibset! I’m also Australian, and my given name’s spelling is quite rare over here, so I’m always spelling out my name for people, but honestly I don’t mind and it’s never made me wish it was spelled with the common spelling.
