Could I use [name_m]Fin[/name_m] as a nick name for [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]?
I feel like I cant name my kid a name that doesnt have a nickname. I love [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] but hate [name_f]Fifi[/name_f] which seems to be the only one!
[name_m]Fin[/name_m] would be an adorable nn for [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]! [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_m]Fio[/name_m]? Or [name_f]Fia[/name_f]? If you aren’t crazy about [name_m]Fin[/name_m].
[name_u]Love[/name_u] it Very cute nickname. There’s also [name_f]Finola[/name_f], if you wanted a more direct route to [name_m]Fin[/name_m], but I think [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] nn [name_m]Fin[/name_m] definitely works.
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] is pronounced as ‘[name_u]Fee[/name_u]-yo-nah’. The sounds or general components of [name_m]Fin[/name_m] and Finny are not present within it. Therefore, realistically speaking, I don’t think they work as nicknames. You’d be better off with [name_f]Fionnuala[/name_f] ‘[name_m]Fin[/name_m]-noo-lah’ if those are the nicknames you’re after, or perhaps Fionla.
I think so. [name_u]Finn[/name_u]/[name_m]Fin[/name_m] is really masculine to me, so I really wouldn’t want to use it, but I think it works. I think [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] nn Finny is sort of cute, though, and Finny doesn’t seem as masculine to me. I’ve also heard of Fi/[name_u]Fee[/name_u], [name_f]Faye[/name_f], [name_f]Fia[/name_f], etc., for [name_f]Fiona[/name_f], as well.
[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t like it. [name_m]Fin[/name_m] is a stretch & I find it totally unattractive on a girl. [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] doesn’t have to be [name_f]Fifi[/name_f]. Fi ‘fee’ is a great nn
