me in or out of it!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] berries,

I’m new to this forum. What does everyone think about the name [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]? What type of gal would have this name? And what middle names go well with it? Or…is it better as a middle?

All input welcome, thanks!

I love the name [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]. It’s on my short list. I find it to be a spunky but still distinctly feminine name. Like a girl who isn’t afraid to climb trees and get dirty, but also enjoys dresses and girly things. Lots of middle name style options:

[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Maris[/name_f]

I prefer it as a first name.

Thanks aym! [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is beautiful.

Thanks aym! [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is beautiful!

I think [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] is fabulous! Great first name. I see it as spunky and strong, yet feminine and sweet. It is uncommon and fresh, while still being recognizable and not “out there”. It is a great name for all ages.
I say go for it!

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]! It’s also on my short list. It’s strong, spunky and feminine. I can see it on a girl who loves to write, is very intelligent, and loves animals.

I want to love this name, but the first time I ever heard it was in Shrek and that association has lingered. [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] Lange’s character in this last season of American Horror [name_u]Story[/name_u] helped me to see it as a woman’s name. I’m still waiting to meet a [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] that can shake the ogre imagery for me.

is OK, but it feels flimsy to me somehow.

I much prefer [name_f]Fenella[/name_f], [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_f]Flossie[/name_f], [name_f]Florrie[/name_f], [name_f]Florence[/name_f], [name_f]Forsythia[/name_f], etc.

Thanks for the input everyone. I do love the femininity/spunkiness of this name. Some great mn options too. [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is a fave of mine! One setback I’m thinking is not a huge fan of the nn “fee” and not sure there are any others.

Like others have said, I love [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] for her spunk, strength, and femininity. She’s a girl who can do just about anything she puts her mind to. She’s determined and demands respect, while still being soft and famine when she wants to. As far as nicknames, [name_f]Fia[/name_f] would work, but I don’t think she really needs one.
I prefer a longer middle name with [name_f]Fiona[/name_f], [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] comes to mind, along with
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]

[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_u]Marian[/name_u]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]! I picture a lovely little girl with soft, dark hair and rosy lips. I think it’s such a romantic name. And it’s distinctive. It fits in without blending in - if that makes sense.

Absolutely adore [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]. It’s in my Top 3 for if we have a girl ever. I first encountered the name when I saw the movie The [name_f]Secret[/name_f] of [name_u]Roan[/name_u] Inish. Because of that I picture a girl who is faithful/loyal/loving to her family, is a little bit fearless, and loves life. I think [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] works well on a little girl and a grown woman.

Not going to make any suggestions as so many berries have made such lovely combination suggestions already!

I love [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]. I only know one [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] in real life (she’s 22), a quiet and artistic type of girl. I can imagine [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] being anything though. [name_f]Cheerful[/name_f], serious, a lawyer, a dancer, anything really. [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]'s feminine and delicate, elegant but down-to-earth.

[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] - I second this.
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]

[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] - I hope this doesn’t sound filler, I like [name_f]Marie[/name_f].

[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Carole[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f]

Thanks for the input! [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] options. I’m thinking [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] or [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]!
