I’m currently pregnant with my first baby and need some help with it’s name.
My current favourite boys name is [name_u]Grey[/name_u] (after my grandad [name_m]Graham[/name_m]). [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think this works on its own or would I be better with a longer name such as [name_m]Greyson[/name_m]? Is [name_u]Grey[/name_u] or [name_u]Gray[/name_u] a better spelling. I want to use the middle name [name_m]Peter[/name_m] after my partners grandad. I also like the middle name [name_u]James[/name_u].
Which is best:
[name_u]Grey[/name_u] [name_m]Peter[/name_m]
[name_u]Grey[/name_u] [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_u]Grey[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Peter[/name_m]
I have my heart set on the name [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] for a little girl but the middle name is so hard.
So far I have:
[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Sue[/name_f]
[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f]-[name_f]Sue[/name_f]
[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_u]Halle[/name_u]
[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_u]Halle[/name_u] [name_f]Sue[/name_f]
[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Barbara[/name_f]
[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Barbara[/name_f] [name_f]Sue[/name_f]
[name_f]Sue[/name_f] is my mothers name. Only problem with this is that my partner has a daughter already with the middle name [name_f]Sue[/name_f], do you think this matters?
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] is my mothers favourite flower. [name_u]Halle[/name_u] is my sisters name and [name_f]Barbara[/name_f] is both mine and my partners nanas name.
Which do you prefer?
Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for your help
I agree with PP on [name_m]Graham[/name_m] nn [name_u]Grey[/name_u]. If you live in the US, I would spell it [name_u]Gray[/name_u], since that’s the customary American spelling.
I like [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_u]Halle[/name_u].
I like [name_u]Grey[/name_u]/[name_u]Gray[/name_u] best by itself—I think it sounds more classic and less trendy than the [name_m]Greyson[/name_m]- type names. [name_u]Grey[/name_u] and [name_u]Gray[/name_u] are both great spellings, but if you want to honor a [name_m]Graham[/name_m] I’d use [name_u]Gray[/name_u] since it’s more similar.
[name_u]Gray[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] is kind of a repetitive sound, so I would use [name_u]Grey[/name_u] [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u].
[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_u]Halle[/name_u] is so elegant! That would be my pick. [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f]-[name_f]Sue[/name_f] is also very sweet and a great honor name.
I’m not sure about repeating the MN [name_f]Sue[/name_f] on a half-sister—I think it depends on how the older child with [name_f]Sue[/name_f] as a middle would feel about it. Would she like it and think it was cool, or feel like she isn’t “special” anymore? If she’s old enough to ask, ask her. Alternatively, pp’s suggestion of using [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] or another variation to differentiate it could also work.
