This is my first baby but I am already a step-mum to the fabulous [name_f]Cara[/name_f] and [name_m]Lucas[/name_m].
Here are some ideas we are throwing around for girls: [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], [name_f]Freya[/name_f], [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], [name_f]Romilly[/name_f], [name_f]Saffron[/name_f] and [name_f]Anais[/name_f].
Any thoughts or suggestions are gladly welcomed. Thank you, [name_u]Nat[/name_u].
With [name_f]Cara[/name_f] and [name_m]Lucas[/name_m], I really like [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], and [name_f]Anais[/name_f]. Is [name_f]Cara[/name_f] pronounced CAR-uh or CARE-uh?
[name_m]How[/name_m] do you pronounce [name_f]Anais[/name_f]?
From your list, I like [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] best. If you’re wanting it to flow as a sibset, perhaps you could use some of the others but use a simpler nickname. [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] nn [name_u]Rory[/name_u], [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] nn [name_f]Mona[/name_f], [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] nn [name_f]Elle[/name_f] or [name_u]Lou[/name_u].
I was also wondering how you pronounce [name_f]Anais[/name_f]!
Personally, I quite like [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] the best but you might have to consider nicknames too. My daughter is called [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] and she gets called by other people Auttie and she doesn’t like it that much even though I really find it cute For example nicknames for all the names you have listed could be:
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] ~ [name_u]Rori[/name_u]/[name_u]Rory[/name_u]/[name_f]Rora[/name_f]/[name_f]Aura[/name_f] or maybe even [name_u]Ari[/name_u]/[name_f]Aria[/name_f]!
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] ~ [name_m]Frey[/name_m]/[name_m]Frey[/name_m] [name_m]Frey[/name_m] or even maybe [name_u]Rey[/name_u]/[name_u]Ray[/name_u]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] ~ [name_u]Julie[/name_u]/[name_u]Jules[/name_u]/[name_f]Letty[/name_f] or maybe Li Li
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u] ~ [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]/[name_f]Ella[/name_f]/[name_f]Elle[/name_f]/[name_u]Lou[/name_u]/[name_u]Lou[/name_u] [name_u]Lou[/name_u]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] ~ [name_u]Fee[/name_u]/[name_f]Febe[/name_f]/[name_f]Phebe[/name_f]/Feebs/Pheebs/[name_f]Fifi[/name_f]/Phee/Pheeble
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] ~ [name_f]Mona[/name_f]/[name_u]Romy[/name_u]/[name_f]Rona[/name_f] (with a capital ‘O’ sound)/[name_f]Nona[/name_f] (with a capital ‘O’ sound)
[name_f]Romilly[/name_f] ~ [name_u]Romy[/name_u]/[name_f]Milly[/name_f]/[name_f]Millie[/name_f]/[name_f]Ro[/name_f]/[name_m]Rome[/name_m]/[name_u]Roma[/name_u]/[name_f]Milla[/name_f]/[name_f]Ami[/name_f] ([name_m]Ah[/name_m]-mee)
[name_f]Saffron[/name_f] ~ Saffie/Saffy/Fi/Fi Fi/[name_u]Ronnie[/name_u]/[name_u]Ronny[/name_u]
I really am stretching a bit far for some of these nicknames, but you wouldn’t even imagine how people shorten names down! Like I said earlier about my daughter [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] being shortened to Auttie, my other daughter [name_f]Summer[/name_f], was shortened to [name_f]Ami[/name_f]!?
Out of interest, do you plan on giving a nickname to your daughter or calling her by her full name?
babymakesthree and Cheshire [name_f]Cat[/name_f]: I pronounce [name_f]Anais[/name_f] as an-nah-ees. I don’t know if we would use nicknames or not, I think it’s nice for nicknames to come about more orgnanically rather than planned. Thanks for your input!
It is ok! Good idea, it would come more naturally that way instead of being forced Oh I quite like [name_f]Anais[/name_f] but maybe people would have trouble with pronouncing it? Or was that just us
Congratulations! You have some lovely names on your list. [name_f]Romilly[/name_f] and [name_f]Saffron[/name_f] seem like a but much, especially when their siblings have simple names.
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] are lovely! [name_f]Anais[/name_f] is so sweet, but she’ll struggle with mispronunciation her whole life! And I think it may be hard to properly pronounce with an American accent.
I like [name_f]Aurora[/name_f], [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] best. I adore [name_f]Anais[/name_f] but maybe it’s better as a Middle because of pronunciation issues.
