I would love to see your first impression on the name:
[name_u]Scout[/name_u] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]
I’ll leave my bias by the wayside but I’m just interested to see what you ladies think!
I would love to see your first impression on the name:
[name_u]Scout[/name_u] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]

I’m not sure about [name_u]Scout[/name_u] but I think [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] is such a pretty name and girlies it up. I would probably reverse it to [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] [name_u]Scout[/name_u] but call her [name_u]Scout[/name_u] as a nickname.
That way if she prefers a girly name she still has it.
I think [name_u]Scout[/name_u] is a cute nickname for a girl.
Neither name is my style but they do sound cute together. They flow very well.
I think that it is precious and that [name_u]Scout[/name_u] would be an awesome first name and [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] would make it more girly and would balance it out! I love it!
I think they clash. I can understand wanting to have a more traditional option in the middle in case [name_u]Scout[/name_u] doesn’t identify with [name_u]Scout[/name_u]. I don’t feel like this achieves that.
I’d opt for [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] w/nn [name_u]Scout[/name_u].
[name_u]Scout[/name_u] is my only GP name for a girl. I’m not a fan of [name_f]Amelie[/name_f], and while the names clash stylistically, I actually would love to see a birth announcement for a [name_u]Scout[/name_u] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f].
I love it! I have a crush on [name_u]Scout[/name_u] especially with a cute feminine middle name. It kind of reminds me of my current GP, [name_u]Saylor[/name_u] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]. I know there’s someone on NB with a daughter named [name_u]Scout[/name_u] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f].
I would probably switch it to [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] [name_u]Scout[/name_u]. I love both names… just not sure if I like them together!
[name_u]Scout[/name_u] on a girly girl is cute. But I don’t like it for a tomboy kind of girl… it comes off as too masculine for me in that case. Does that make any sense?
I really dislike [name_u]Scout[/name_u] on both genders, sorry! That being said, the combo does flow well, but very mismatched. I prefer [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] in the first name spot. It’s really pretty.
I don’t like [name_u]Scout[/name_u], it’s like Boy [name_u]Scout[/name_u]. I love [name_f]Amelie[/name_f], though!!
Ditto the suggestion of [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]. Not a fan of [name_u]Scout[/name_u]. It doesn’t sound like a name and it really doesn’t sound like a feminine name.
Oh, I love these names. [name_u]Scout[/name_u] is mostly a GP of mine, as it’s not very practical, but the Mockingbird association beats out my stylistic predispositions. [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] is equally quirky and lovely. I prefer [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] [name_u]Scout[/name_u], but I do very much like this combo.
Loving the opinions ladies. I love seeing all the different outlooks on it. Keep em coming!
As far as [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] goes, I really don’t care for that name. Though this is just a name I’ve heard around. It’s not necessarily on my list…yet, haha.
I agree that the styles are mismatched, but I find myself often questioning how much style matters within an actual name. For sibsets, I can see how that would be important though. To me an obviously/painfully mismatched name would be [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f] [name_f]Gertrude[/name_f] or something along those lines.
Anyways, I’m loving all the suggestions and opinions!
I love [name_u]Scout[/name_u], reminds me of To Kill a Mockingbird. I think [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] balances out the less feminine [name_u]Scout[/name_u] well. It is also a more traditional name to balance the rather unusual one.
Having a daughter, [name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_f]Amelie[/name_f], I could never use [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] as a MN, but I love [name_u]Scout[/name_u] as a sibset. I would use [name_u]Scout[/name_u] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] for my daughter.
