[name_f]Cleo[/name_f] & [name_f]Talia[/name_f] are absolutely gorgeous and oh-so-spunky! [name_u]Love[/name_u] them both

Thanks for the feedback! [name_m]How[/name_m] do you feel about [name_f]Viviane[/name_f] and [name_f]Lilia[/name_f]?

I voted for all except [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]—much prefer [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], the [name_m]French[/name_m] variation!

[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] is so spunky—can’t wait for it to make a comeback.

[name_f]Cleo[/name_f] is quietly sophisticated, without being stuffy. It’s got a dash of spunk too with that -o ending.

[name_f]Calliope[/name_f] is so whimsical and bright. There is the issue of pronunciation (Ca LIE oh pe? [name_u]CAL[/name_u] ee OH pe?), but it’s one of my favorite mythology options.

[name_f]Talia[/name_f] is very pretty without being long or frilly. [name_m]Long[/name_m] and frilly are nice too, but there’s something appealing about the simplicity of [name_f]Talia[/name_f].

I like [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] too! A great option if [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is too popular for you.

Prefer [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] to [name_f]Viviane[/name_f] or [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] (though the latter is nice for the sake of easy spelling).

Wow, it’s not often that I absolutely [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] all the options on a Nameberry poll, but I love all of these! [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] is an excellent namesake in mythology; [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] is lilting and elegant; [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] is spunky and historical; [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] is gorgeous in meaning and sound; and [name_f]Talia[/name_f] feels modern and flowy. It’s so hard to choose!!

I think ultimately I have to go with [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] and [name_f]Cleo[/name_f]. I just adore [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] and I find [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] to be so edgy and fun. Next choice would be [name_f]Calliope[/name_f], because what little girl wouldn’t want to be named after a muse?

I like [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] and [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] - beautiful names.

What a great list!

The only one I didn’t vote for is [name_f]Calliope[/name_f]. For some reason, my mind goes to “circus music” before “Greek mythology” for an association to [name_f]Calliope[/name_f], and because of that it doesn’t appeal to me, though it probably otherwise would. For me, it’s more of a middle name option.

Out of the rest, [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] and [name_f]Talia[/name_f] are currently on my list, [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] would be if not for knowing a dog named [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] (and I still considered using it!), and I had the very similar [name_f]Simona[/name_f] on my list, though I love [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] and the connection to the [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_m]Quimby[/name_m] books.

I think [name_f]Talia[/name_f] might be my favorite here, though, all things considered, with the roots from [name_f]Thalia[/name_f], it has the same Greek heritage as picks like [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] and [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], but captures some of the soft elegance of [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] and the brighter energy of [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] as well. And it would pair well with really any of the others as a sister name, in case that’s a concern.

[name_f]Cleo[/name_f] and [name_f]Talia[/name_f] are my favourites but I also like [name_f]Calliope[/name_f]

Thanks for the thoughts, everyone!! I love [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] SO much but it’s a tad too ‘out there’ for my husband, and I totally get it. He doesn’t love [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] either, so I think it’s out. [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] we both enjoy a lot, but it’s a smidge of a mouthful with our last name that starts with R.

Names we also love are [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]/[name_f]Viviane[/name_f]/[name_f]Viviana[/name_f] and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] but I feel like they’re a bit too trendy for me. Our current daughters are N@omi and M@bel. We are a muti racial, international family, so I need a name that travels well in and out of races and cultures. (Another reason I fear [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] has to be axed.)

That led me to [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] and [name_f]Talia[/name_f]… and I’m wondering if those two give you immediate nationality/racial associations?

Between [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] and [name_f]Talia[/name_f], [name_f]Talia[/name_f] feels a little more versatile to me for some reason. I have no distinct associations with the name, and I could see it on someone of any nationality. [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] feels a little less international somehow, despite it being Greek/Egyptian in origin, I think because it’s a bit trendy in the U.S. these days. I do immediately think of [name_f]Cleopatra[/name_f], which is a positive association for me. Both are excellent choices though!

I think ultimately if versatility and international appeal is your priority, I would go with [name_f]Talia[/name_f] :). (Also I think it goes best with your other children’s names!)

[name_f]Cleo[/name_f] is my all time favorite name. I wish my DH liked it as we are expecting a girl in [name_f]May[/name_f]. I also like the variation Cleobella. It’s very rare with the same feel and an extra twist. Good luck!

[name_f]Talia[/name_f], [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], and [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]!
