First impressions

So what is your input on my top two boys names  good for brothers?

[name]Atticus[/name] [name]Lyndon[/name]
[name]Trace[/name] [name]Ellis[/name]

I absolutely love [name]Atticus[/name] [name]Lyndon[/name]! So handsome and smart, I adore both names separately, but I love them even more together!

[name]Trace[/name] [name]Ellis[/name]–sorry, I’m not a fan of this at all. [name]Ellis[/name] is cool and I like it, but on a boy, [name]Trace[/name] just feels like something [name]Sarah[/name] [name]Palin[/name] would choose. I don’t mean that in a negative way, I don’t hate the Palins like some do, but I don’t love them, either, haha. I just really don’t like their choices when it comes to boys–[name]Track[/name] and Trigg, and even [name]Bristol[/name]'s son, [name]Tripp[/name]. I feel like [name]Trace[/name] just fits right in, either that, or it’s just a nn for [name]Tracy[/name] for me.

Would you consider something like [name]Atticus[/name] [name]Lyndon[/name] and Truett [name]Ellis[/name]? I think those would be positively perfect for brothers!

Good luck!

[name]Atticus[/name] [name]Lyndon[/name]: I feel like they’re mismatched- [name]Atticus[/name] being so badass masculine, and [name]Lyndon[/name] being more passive [name]IMO[/name]. I’m not into the [name]Lyndon[/name] [name]Johnson[/name] association, so I’d definitely use [name]Linden[/name] instead, but not with [name]Atticus[/name].

[name]Trace[/name] [name]Ellis[/name]: This name gives me pause. I feel like [name]Trace[/name] is such a feathery barely-there name, because it’s the word trace! I love [name]Ellis[/name], but with [name]Trace[/name], I think of traces of the past, the ghosts of ancestors who passed through [name]Ellis[/name] Island… so it feels too literal to me.

I could get behind [name]Atticus[/name] [name]Case[/name], or [name]Linden[/name] [name]Ellis[/name].

[name]Atticus[/name] is gorgeous and I don’t mind [name]Lyndon[/name] either.

[name]Trace[/name] isn’t great at all and [name]Trace[/name] [name]Ellis[/name] sounds odd.

[name]Atticus[/name] [name]Lyndon[/name] is fine, if a bit of a mouthful.

I also am not a huge fan of [name]Trace[/name]. I think it’s because I’m not a fan of the “nouns as names” trend ([name]Cash[/name], [name]Chance[/name] etc.). I might suggest instead

[name]Trent[/name] [name]Ellis[/name]
[name]Trevor[/name] [name]Ellis[/name]

[name]Roman[/name] Philosophers

[name]Lucius[/name] [name]Ellis[/name]
[name]Seneca[/name] [name]Ellis[/name]
[name]Marcus[/name] [name]Ellis[/name]
