DH’s parents were from [name]Ireland[/name] and [name]Italy[/name]. His last name is Briscoe. He is really pushing HARD for [name]Renzo[/name] if we have another boy. He says, lighten up, names can be fun  I just don’t think I can deal with the double O endings… what do you think? Plus I think [name]Renzo[/name] Briscoe sounds like the least popular boy on the Catholic school playground in the 1950s!
I agree with you [name]Renzo[/name] Briscoe is a bit much. To me it feels like a very ironic anti-hero in a very poorly scripted dark-comedy play.
Maybe you can find something similar to [name]Renzo[/name] you both can agree on that would lead to [name]Renzo[/name] as a nn.
[name]How[/name] about:
[name]Lorenz[/name] _ Briscoe nn [name]Renzo[/name]
[name]Wren[/name] [name]Zebadiah[/name] Briscoe nn [name]Renzo[/name]. (Obviously [name]Zebadiah[/name] is a filler for any Z- name, it’s just the first that came to mind. lol. But if you use a Z mn there are a ton of other names that would work like: [name]Camren[/name], [name]Farren[/name], [name]Goren[/name], [name]Efren[/name], [name]Kieren[/name], etc).
[name]Lorenzo[/name] Briscoe is fine; [name]Renzo[/name] Briscoe is too singsong-y. The syllable count matters with same-ending names.
Yeah, I would agree with you on this one. [name]Renzo[/name] Briscoe is too much.
It’s too much! Although [name]Renzo[/name] is a super cool name!
I am having the exact same problem as our last name ends in O too… but loving lots of ‘ends in o’ firsts…
[name]Otto[/name], [name]Bruno[/name], [name]Juno[/name]…
I agree with others, you just need more syllables! [name]Lorenzo[/name] Briscoe flows much more nicely than just [name]Renzo[/name] -
although [name]Renzo[/name] would make a cool nn. Another idea could be [name]Leonardo[/name] Briscoe, nn [name]Leo[/name]. Again, just more syllables
[name]Hope[/name] that helps.
LOL thanks for giving me more ammunition against DH!
I was hung up on the O’s, but you guys are right that more syllables ([name]Lorenzo[/name]) does change the flow and improve things. I think [name]Renzo[/name] is cool on it’s own, too, I like o endings for boys’ names in general, I just wish we weren’t plagued with the o ending on our last name!
