First name for Chrysanthemum?

As the title says, I’m looking for a first name for [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]! For a while the name was on my lists, mostly as a guilty pleasure, and then I read the children’s book [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f] and fell in love with it even more! It became my online name for a while, but I decided to go by my real name, as I don’t feel like [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f] is my name, and would prefer for it to be on my wordy middles list!
Obviously the name is quite out-there, and perhaps even a little strange, but I really do love how it sounds, and would love to create a list of first names for it!
So, what first name would you use if your daughter had the middle name [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]?
Using the list below as inspiration, what first names for the middle [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f] would you recommend to me?

[name_f]Eugenie[/name_f]
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f]
[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f]
[name_f]Heidi[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Frances[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
[name_u]Hyacinth[/name_u]
[name_f]Prudence[/name_f]
[name_u]Blythe[/name_u]
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f]
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f]
[name_f]Agatha[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_f]Viola[/name_f] / [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonore[/name_f] / [name_f]Leonora[/name_f]
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]

And a bonus question, what first name would you give to my daughter if her middle name was [name_f]Delphinium[/name_f]?

Thank you all in advance, I can’t wait to read your lovely responses!

I loved the [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f] book as a child and I think it actually sparked my interest in names! As someone with a unique spelling that no one gets right until I correct them, I empathized with [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f].

I would go for something non-floral and non-wordy obviously, so that rules out [name_f]Lilibet[/name_f], Hycainth, [name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_u]Blythe[/name_u], and [name_f]Prudence[/name_f]. For my it would also rule out [name_f]Araminta[/name_f] and [name_f]Heidi[/name_f], as I associate them with nature names. (Araminta nn [name_f]Minty[/name_f] is maybe why? And [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] the book?)
No matter how much I love [name_f]Agnes[/name_f], [name_f]Frances[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f], the S sounds don’t sound as good with [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f] as some of your other options. [name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] are a bit M heavy, too.
That leaves [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f], [name_f]Winifred[/name_f], [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f], [name_f]Pippa[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_f]Leonore[/name_f], [name_f]Agatha[/name_f], and [name_f]Margot[/name_f].
I prefer a strong first name with it, so my choices would be (in order.)

  1. [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]
  2. [name_f]Viola[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]
  3. [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]
  4. [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]
  5. [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]

I like [name_f]Viola[/name_f] and [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] the best, and I adore [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]. The book was a childhood favourite!

I think two syllable first names flow the best for this clunkier (in a good way) three syllable middle (although one syllable names work too). I’d also avoid other word names (especially botanical names).

From your list:
[name_f]Pippa[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]
[name_f]Margot[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]

[name_u]Alva[/name_u] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]
[name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]
[name_u]Blair[/name_u] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]
[name_f]Bridie[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]
[name_u]Esme[/name_u] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]
[name_f]Mable[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]
[name_f]Opal[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]
[name_f]Ora[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]

[name_f]Delphinium[/name_f] is absolutely gorgeous

I don’t have any good combos but I do have a story of a real life [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f] (first name).

[name_f]My[/name_f] mom knew a girl named [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f] NN [name_f]Chrissy[/name_f] growing up (60s-70s). She hated her name & legally changed it the day she turned 18 to a very common name, something like [name_f]Ann[/name_f] or [name_f]Linda[/name_f].

[name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f] is such a fabulously striking floral choice. [name_u]Truly[/name_u] beautiful :blossom:

So [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] really sung to me. I love the idea of [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f] she’s so melodic packed with tons of cottagecore imagery. This would be very dreamy.

I also like [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f] and [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]. I like names with a strong vowel ending paired with [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f].

But [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] is my favourite!

So as a sister for [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f] I love the idea of [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] [name_f]Delphinium[/name_f]! From outside your list I was crushing on the idea of [name_u]Alma[/name_u] [name_f]Delphinium[/name_f].

Personally I’d choose [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] or [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f] :ribbon:

@MsJAJ [name_f]Bridie[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f] is so pretty! I don’t usually like [name_f]Bridie[/name_f], but she’s so nice here! [name_f]Eira[/name_f] [name_f]Delphinium[/name_f] and [name_f]Pippa[/name_f] [name_f]Delphinium[/name_f] are gorgeous as well!

@Sadie307 Aw, that sucks that she didn’t like her name! I imagine it’s a little heavy for a first, but I think she can work well in the middle if balanced with a more common or classic first name!

@tori101 She’s so vibrant, isn’t she! [name_f]Heidi[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f] is absolutely gorgeous, and [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] [name_f]Delphinium[/name_f] is a perfect sister to her! [name_f]Emma[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f] and [name_u]Alma[/name_u] [name_f]Delphinium[/name_f] are beautiful! Thanks for the response!

I also love [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f], [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f], and [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]! Thanks so much for the suggestions!

I like [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f], and Leonore/Leonora as you suggested

Antonia Chrysanthemum
Octavia Chrysanthemum
Livia Chrysanthemum
Bonnie Chrysanthemum
Florence Chrysanthemum
Joan Chrysanthemum
Selene Chrysanthemum

If her middle name was Delphinium I’d probably name her Amethyst or Aster
