Well, My Husband and I are completely stuck with baby girl names.
My grandmother on my mother side was a matriarch to our family and was dear and loved by everyone in the family. Unfortunately she passed in 2020. So to honor her we are pretty set on using the name Marthaā¦ BUT we want to us it as a middle name not a first name
Our last name is Coleman and both of us have deep Scottish roots and my fatherās family is from the caribbean. Our other girls names are Juniper and Laurel so it needs to match the kind of nature/botanical theme.
Any suggestions?? We canāt think of anything! We have a few first names we like but dont think work well with Martha or do they? We donāt know, PLEASE HELP US BECAUSE THIS IS HARD and yāall seem creative
Girl names we like but arenāt sure work:
Rosemary
Aurora
Piper
Willow
Hazel
Skye
Autumn
Isla
I love all of the names youāve come up with so far! [name_u]Willow[/name_u] [name_f]Martha[/name_f] and [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] [name_f]Martha[/name_f] have to be my favorites, they flow beautifully.
To me, if you love a combo or it has significance, the flow and cohesiveness of the names donāt matter! All of the first names you listed are beautiful and work wonderfully with [name_f]Martha[/name_f] best of luck on picking a name.
[name_f]Martha[/name_f] is beautiful! I wish I heard it more often.
From your list, I really love [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Martha[/name_f]. I encourage you to think on that one again before putting it aside! [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Martha[/name_f] and [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Martha[/name_f] are both long-time favorites of mine.
It sounds like you might be putting too much emphasis on the way the first name sounds with the middle name. It might seem important right now but itās not often that a personās first name and middle name are called out in everyday life. The first name to surname flow is far more common.
It can be so much harder searching for a first name when the middle name is locked in but that being what it is, I would suggest that you donāt test your first names out with [name_f]Martha[/name_f] until you have a solid short list of names you would happily use for this baby. I think thereās a risk of inflating the importance of the middle name if every first name has to pass the test before you even consider it.
Are the names on your list names you would happily use if the middle name wasnāt an issue? I think [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] and [name_u]Willow[/name_u] complement your daughterās names the most from your list. [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Martha[/name_f] C____. [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Martha[/name_f] C____. [name_u]Willow[/name_u] [name_f]Martha[/name_f] C____.
I wasnāt sure initially but now that Iāve said each of these names out loud with the middle name and your surname, I donāt think thereās anything wrong with the way they sound. I think they are all quite nice! If you add a short pause between the first and middle name, that helps a lot too.
Some other names that you might like; [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], [name_f]Opal[/name_f], [name_f]Camellia[/name_f], [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_f]Bryony[/name_f], [name_u]Sage[/name_u], [name_f]Cicely[/name_f], [name_u]Adair[/name_u], [name_f]Primula[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] and [name_u]Indigo[/name_u].
[name_u]Willow[/name_u] [name_f]Martha[/name_f] is lovely! I also like [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] & [name_u]Skye[/name_u] with [name_f]Martha[/name_f].
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f], [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], or [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] have naturey themes and could work with [name_f]Martha[/name_f].
[name_u]Or[/name_u] you could go with a word name that isnāt botanical.
Something like [name_u]Ever[/name_u] [name_f]Martha[/name_f] or [name_f]Clarity[/name_f] [name_f]Martha[/name_f].
Maybe [name_u]Story[/name_u], [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], [name_f]Glory[/name_f], [name_u]Sage[/name_u], or [name_f]Verity[/name_f].
I also donāt see anything wrong with using [name_f]Martha[/name_f] as a first name but calling her by her middle.
[name_f]Martha[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] āRosemary/Rosieā or [name_f]Martha[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u] āSkyeā both seem to flow better than the reverse.
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u] and [name_u]Laurel[/name_u] are gorgeous!!
[name_u]Hazel[/name_u] [name_f]Martha[/name_f], [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] [name_f]Martha[/name_f] and [name_u]Skye[/name_u] [name_f]Martha[/name_f] are sweet!!
[name_u]Hazel[/name_u] And [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] are both perfect! I think I slightly prefer [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] [name_f]Martha[/name_f], such a stunning combo!
[name_u]Willow[/name_u] [name_f]Martha[/name_f] [name_m]Coleman[/name_m] or [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] [name_f]Martha[/name_f] [name_m]Coleman[/name_m] are both absolutely lovely combos!
I think several of your names work with [name_f]Martha[/name_f]: [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_u]Willow[/name_u], [name_u]Hazel[/name_u], [name_u]Skye[/name_u].
[name_f]My[/name_f] strong favourites are [name_u]Willow[/name_u] [name_f]Martha[/name_f] and [name_u]Skye[/name_u] [name_f]Martha[/name_f].
I think you might have found the perfect already, that works well with older sisters [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]. [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Martha[/name_f] sounds absolutely stunning and carries on the botanical tree name to perfection! I donāt think I can suggest anything that tops this name in my opinion!
Firstly sorry for the loss of your Grandmother [name_f]Martha[/name_f] is a wonderful honour name.
From your list I really love [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_u]Willow[/name_u] & [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] such gorgeous names that I feel are in keeping with your botanical theme. I absolutely adore [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Martha[/name_f] [name_m]Coleman[/name_m]! I think she works wonderfully with [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] & [name_u]Laurel[/name_u].
Youāve had a few suggestions so count any repeats as me being in agreement with the berries
