First name for Phoebe

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I really love [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], and am thinking of putting it in the middle spot for our baby girl due this summer. I actually want it as a first name, but our last name starts with a “[name_u]Fee[/name_u]” sound, so I think it might be too cutesy/matchy to have [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] as a first name.

What do you think of [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] Finot (pronounced like “Pinot”)? Too much? Alliterative in a bad way? (I don’t usually like alliterative names, but just love [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] and think its perfect with our son’s name). Better in the middle?

If I must put it in the middle, I need first name ideas to go with [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f].

So far we’ve come up with [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]. But I worry [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] is too trendy, though amazingly my husband and I both like it.

[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] combos we like with [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] in the first spot are
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Sunday[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]

We like spunky classic names and also adventurous names (word names, literary, mythological, etc.) Big brother is [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m].

Any thoughts/ideas?! Thanks so much!

[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] Finot isn’t terrible. I don’t mind alliterations in names though. A high school friend was [name_m]Gregor[/name_m] [name_m]Macgregor[/name_m], and he LOVED it.

As a middle name I don’t really have any suggestions :frowning:
I like [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u] more than [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] though.
I [name_u]Love[/name_u] your son’s name!

I like alliterative names as long as there isn’t a repetitive sound like [name_f]Amy[/name_f] [name_m]Adams[/name_m] or [name_f]Janis[/name_f] [name_m]Joplin[/name_m]. If Finot was my last name I wouldn’t pick [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] as a first name.

[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] in the Middle (my favorites are in bold)
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] Finot
[name_f]Juliana[/name_f] [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] Finot
[name_u]June[/name_u] [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] Finot -this one sounds great and it’s the reverse of one on your list
[name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] Finot
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] Finot
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] Finot
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] Finot

I love some of your names in your signature. Going off of those I love.
[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] [name_u]Scout[/name_u]
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Poet[/name_f]
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Sunday[/name_f]
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] Merit

I actually like alliteration most of the time, but [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] Finot is a little tongue-twistery for me, and very lispy. I do love [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], but in this case, I think [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] would be a better choice. [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is very sweet. I also love [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] from your signature, and I think [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] would be great with [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m].
