Hey Berries, my coworker needs first names! Boyfriend really wants the middle name Sieglinde, after his grandmother, and last name is two syllables and ends with -lim. Coworker wants to accommodate her bf but needs a first name to make her love this middle. She was trying to find alternatives to the middle, but couldn’t find a good one. So i told her that i would consult the Berries. Please advise! Thanks!!
I like the look of the name but apparently it’s Zeek-lin-de / Zeeg-lin-de, which might be a bit much with the last name ending in Lim? I don’t know, I kind of think it’s awesome!
But otherwise as an alternative middle name/adapted honour name:
Signy (a legit shortening of the name from Norse mythology - you’ll need to suss out the pronunciation)
Victoria (Sieglinde means gentle victory)
Or other victory/glory names: Colette, Clio, Nicola, Veronica etc (there’s a NB list on victory names)
Any of the Lind names - Lucinda, Rosalind etc
There’s Zeek/Zeke but I don’t like this name esp for a girl.
I would otherwise lean into the heritage of the name and choose a lovely Germanic name for the first (and use it in full for second):
Hildie
Adelaide
Ida
Lotta
Heidi
Ursula
Isolde
Ella
Zelda (maybe a little too strong)
Elke
Astrid
Elsa
Greta
Clara
Hope this helps!
Edit: she could also choose a very unexpected pairing like an “English literary name” (Jane, Eleanor, Kitty, Mary etc) or a nature name (see lists on here) or a spunky name (Freya, Zara, Uma, Verity, Vera, Mabel). That’s really a matter of her taste - and unless the name ends in an S or Z or is particularly tricky to say, there are countless options. With that name, a first name ending in a vowel likely to suit best but good to test out a bunch!
Any ideas are good! Thank you! She’s not entirely sold on the idea, and wants any suggestion to try to either love it or find something different or something to go with as a first, so that’s great!

Actually, [name_f]Talia[/name_f] was on her list, but she wanted Ta-lee-a, and she knows it would be pronounced Tal-ya. But I’ll show her that list, thanks!
Some great suggestions, I’ll show her that list, thanks!
If it helps, I’d pn it with three syllables I guess it depends where you are
They do, but they pronounce it se-clinda, which adds to the problem because of that hard c sound.
