I like alliteration on a case by case basis and in this case I think it works! The vowel sounds are different enough that it doesn’t sound like a rhyme (ex: I probably wouldn’t do [name_u]Sam[/name_u] [name_m]Sanders[/name_m]). And neither name causes you to mispronounce the other one.
[name_u]Sam[/name_u] is a great choice to join the already beautifully named [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m]! Good luck!
I agree, it works. Of course it is a lot of S (&m). Something like [name_m]Nate[/name_m] [name_f]Summers[/name_f] or [name_m]Ned[/name_m] [name_f]Summers[/name_f] would be cute too.
I think alliterative names are really cool! All the characters in those superhero comics and movies seem to have alliterative names - [name_f]Lois[/name_f] [name_u]Lane[/name_u] and [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_u]Parker[/name_u] and [name_u]Wade[/name_u] [name_m]Wilson[/name_m] and so on - and [name_u]Sam[/name_u] [name_f]Summers[/name_f] sounds like it could be a superhero name, which any kid would love!
[name_m]Samuel[/name_m] [name_f]Summers[/name_f] is handsome and fun. I have a soft spot for alliteration names. [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_u]Parker[/name_u] is one of my favorites.
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your feedback.
My DH and I were out to dinner last night and I said “What about [name_u]Sam[/name_u]? That’s not too much with [name_f]Summers[/name_f], right?”
It was as close to an AHA moment as I’ll ever have on a name :). At this point I’m pretty set on it; I called the baby [name_u]Sam[/name_u] today when talking to my Mom.
We will know in [name_u]August[/name_u] if we’re having a [name_u]Sam[/name_u] or a [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]
