First Name Problem

My husband and I are due in early [name]March[/name], we are so excited, but I can’t decide on a boy’s first name. I know the middle name will be [name]Edward[/name].

[name]John[/name]
[name]Jacob[/name]
[name]Mathew[/name]
[name]Jozef[/name] (that is how my brother spells it)
[name]Jackson[/name]
[name]Jonah[/name]
[name]Keegan[/name]

Any thoughts?

The only two I’m against are [name]John[/name] [name]Edward[/name], because of the political candidate (nothing against him, but I think I just hate any name that alludes to politics) and [name]Jacob[/name] [name]Edward[/name], because it screams Twilight to me.

If you’re looking for a more classic, solid, masculine name I love (in order) [name]Mathew[/name] (though with two T’s), [name]Jackson[/name], and [name]Jonah[/name].
If like [name]Keegan[/name] if you’re going for a more trendy, popular name. I’m not a fan of [name]Jozef[/name].

My family is extremly unfortunate, the only family name we have is [name]Jacob[/name] [name]Edward[/name]. I am the one who is suppposed to carry on that tradition. So, one of my children will have that name and I will have to pray no one notices (but I highly doubt that). Also, I don’t know if this makes [name]Jozef[/name] any better but it is pronounced just like [name]Joseph[/name] and we would call him [name]Joe[/name].

[name]Jozef[/name] surely. Such an unusual name… but I’ve heard it twice today. Good luck!

[name]Jozef[/name] or [name]Josef[/name] is the Slovak way of spelling [name]Joseph[/name]. I personally like [name]Jozef[/name] because how often do you see a ‘z’ in the middle of a name, and that’s how my brother spells his name.

Interesting. So you’re from Slovakia?

[name]Jonah[/name] [name]Edward[/name]!!!

Yes, I’m from Slovakia.

I really like [name]Mathew[/name](or is it [name]Matthew[/name]?) [name]Edward[/name]. I feel like [name]Matthew[/name] is never used anymore! My brothers name is [name]Jacob[/name] [name]Edward[/name], and I really like that one too. I love [name]John[/name] as well- it’s so classic but I agree, I don’t like the relation to politics.
