First names for mn Austin

Looking for suggestions of first names to go with the middle name [name_u]Austin[/name_u] (family name that my husband really likes). Our last name is similar to [name_m]Gannon[/name_m], so two syllable names ending in N don’t sound great, and a lot of letters are out due to bad initials (F, G, H, N). Here are some on my list for inspiration:

Ethan
[name_m]Edward[/name_m]
[name_u]Elliot[/name_u] (I do like this with [name_u]Austin[/name_u], just looking for more options)
[name_m]Frederick[/name_m]
[name_m]Oscar[/name_m]
[name_m]Peter[/name_m]
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] (possibly too popular in my circle)

My favourites on your list are [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] G@nnon, [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] G@nnon, and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] G@nnon although all are lovely. More suggestions…

Marcus
[name_m]Reuben[/name_m]

I have a similar dilemma so stay strong! It’s always hard to plan when your set on a middle name, personally love [name_m]Elton[/name_m] [name_u]Austin[/name_u] for an alternative to [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] ([name_m]Elton[/name_m] [name_m]Gannon[/name_m] sounds like a cute celebrity name I love when it matches personally) I see you tend to prefer not so popular but also vintage names so might I suggest [name_m]Oslo[/name_m] [name_u]Austin[/name_u] “[name_m]Oslo[/name_m] [name_m]Gannon[/name_m]” , not so popular, and the name suits your taste, along with [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_u]Austin[/name_u] and [name_m]Paul[/name_m] [name_u]Austin[/name_u], I feel shorter names would flow better with a strong nickname

What about [name_u]Ezra[/name_u]? It’s not quite as traditional as your other choices but I think it’s one of those names that has one foot in the past and one in the future. Very Dickensian to me! [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] [name_u]Austin[/name_u] “[name_m]Gannon[/name_m]”?

From your list my favorite with [name_u]Austin[/name_u] is [name_m]Edward[/name_m]. Probably no local overuse issues as with [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]? plus you can still have the adorable nn [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] if you wanted! [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_u]Austin[/name_u] is too repetitive for me I’m afraid. I like [name_m]Peter[/name_m] but hesitate over teasing. [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] is ok, [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] in the US would have popularity issue as well. I do really like the sound of [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] [name_u]Austin[/name_u] “[name_m]Gannon[/name_m]” nn [name_u]Freddie[/name_u]!

Considering your list with middle & last name…you might also like…

If you want something quirky, Hansel Austin Gannon. I also thought of Hale Austin Gannon. I would actually use Hale as a boy name if it matched my own last name.

Ooo I used to have [name_u]Ezra[/name_u] on my list but forgot about it. Good suggestion!

Hi there.

Here are my thoughts on your list-

Ethan-This is kind of just okay. It’s not a bad name, but it doesn’t sparkle. And it’s just fairly over done the past 20 years. Plus, [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] [name_u]Austin[/name_u] [name_m]Gannon[/name_m] has a lot of 'n’s.

Edward-This is nice. I like the nns [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] & [name_m]Ned[/name_m] a lot. [name_m]Edward[/name_m] is a good solid classic. [name_m]Edward[/name_m] [name_u]Austin[/name_u] [name_m]Gannon[/name_m] flows perfectly nicely.

Elliot-I love the flow of [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] [name_u]Austin[/name_u]. [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] is smart, witty, simple, classic & not too popular.

Frederick-[name_m]Frederick[/name_m] [name_u]Austin[/name_u] [name_m]Gannon[/name_m] sounds really good. [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] is unexpected, but very dashing. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the adorable nns of [name_m]Fred[/name_m] & [name_u]Freddie[/name_u].

Oscar-Ooh, I love this one too. [name_u]Strong[/name_u] & a little quirky. I think that if your ln starts w/a hard ‘G’, this may be a little tongue twister-y. Not terribly though.

Peter-[name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_u]Austin[/name_u] [name_m]Gannon[/name_m] is a great combo. [name_m]Peter[/name_m] is just about like [name_m]Edward[/name_m]. Simple, classic, not over done, has some good nns. I particularly like Patch & [name_u]Pip[/name_u].

Theodore-Super adorable name, but I do hear it a lot in my neck of the woods too. [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_u]Austin[/name_u] [name_m]Gannon[/name_m] is cute for what its worth. And I love the nns [name_u]Theo[/name_u], [name_u]Teddy[/name_u], [name_m]Thatch[/name_m] or Thax.

Here are a few more suggestions-

David

Everett

George-this kind of leads to unfortunate initials though. :sob:

Gabriel-same as a above.

Ira

Levi

Liam

Milo

Oliver

River

Rider

Wyatt

Wilder

Hope this helps.

I like [name_m]Edward[/name_m] [name_u]Austin[/name_u].

How about …
[name_m]Alistair[/name_m] [name_u]Austin[/name_u]
[name_u]Chase[/name_u] [name_u]Austin[/name_u]
[name_u]Douglas[/name_u] [name_u]Austin[/name_u]
[name_m]Kenneth[/name_m] [name_u]Austin[/name_u]
[name_m]Reginald[/name_m] [name_u]Austin[/name_u]
[name_m]Vincent[/name_m] [name_u]Austin[/name_u]

I like either one syllable or 3 syllable names paired with your middle/last names.

Of your list I like [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] the best! Sounds like a really strong name.

Good luck!
