[name_f]My[/name_f] mum’s name is [name_f]Natalie[/name_f], and I would love to honour her by giving a daughter of mine her name, as a middle name. The problem is, I can’t seem to find many names that go well with [name_f]Natalie[/name_f], so I would love it if anyone could share any ideas!
To help, my naming style can be summarised as short and vintage (or classic) names, I love names like [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Willa[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f], etc.
I have considered the option of altering her name to a variation ([name_f]Natalia[/name_f], [name_f]Nathalie[/name_f], [name_f]Natasha[/name_f], etc.) which (in my opinion) all go well (as a middle name) with more names than [name_f]Natalie[/name_f]. But, in the end, I decided not to do this, because I feel it takes away from the idea of honouring the name (again, my opinion).
There is also the option of calling my daughter [name_f]Natalie[/name_f]. I do love the name, so this is a viable option. What do you think? Would it be too confusing at family meetings? Thanks!
My mum is a [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] too! It’s such a hard name to pair, especially in the middle.
I actually think [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] sounds pretty, is that out of the question? I also really like the suggestion of [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Natalie[/name_f], and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Natalie[/name_f]. I did think of [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Natalie[/name_f], but perhaps thats too long?
Also, I dont think it would be too confusing for there to be two Natalies! You could always have a nickname if you could see it being a problem, although I dont love ‘[name_u]Nat[/name_u]’… You could probably use [name_f]Tilly[/name_f]!
Thank you for the suggestion @Victoria_zyj, but I don’t think I could use [name_f]Aisha[/name_f]. It is a lovely name, but I just don’t feel comfortable using an Islamic name when I am not a Muslim myself. Thank you anyway!
@itsjustjack I love some of your suggestions! [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite are [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f] and [name_f]Laura[/name_f], they’re going on my list. Thank you very much!
I’m glad I’m not alone @gracegillian Now that I’m rethinking, [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] is quite a lovely combo, it’s going back on the list! And thank you for the opinion on giving [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] as a first name!
Thank you @Greyblue for your reply. Out of your list, [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Tess[/name_f] [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] are going on my list. They are beautiful names, and (once again) thank you!
@loisevander I love [name_f]Stella[/name_f], [name_f]Cora[/name_f], and (to my surprise) [name_f]Faith[/name_f]. Thank you so much for you suggestions!
Interesting idea @Harvest-Endellion, I’ll write it down. [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is a beautiful name, but unfortunately cannot be used (a close family member holds this name). Thank you!
@Victoria_zyj No problem! [name_f]Alisha[/name_f] is a lovely name, (I love the name [name_u]Ali[/name_u]!) and I’m going to put it on the lists. Thank you!
Thank you everyone for your replies. I think I’ve gone back to my original name of [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Natalie[/name_f]. It’s really grown on me, and I now love the combination. Again, thank you everyone, you were all a huge help!
