I dont know anyone with a name like this…so I’m asking for some thoughts. We cant agree on 1 name so are thinking of combining baby’s name…but I dont want her to have TWO first names. And the name in question looks weird combined so we thought -can we add another capital?? For example- MaryJane. EmilyJo. AnnaMarie. CarrieAnn. AnnaMae. MaryCatharine Is this a thing?
Legal stuff, the name won’t have 2 capitals. Which isn’t to say that you should use it, just something to be aware of. I know of a sibset - [name_f]Ann[/name_f]@lee (her FB has all lower case) and [name_f]Keri[/name_f]@nne (her FB has the K and A upper case) (symbols to protect privacy).
I’ve seen first names with a space or hyphen. That is also an option!
I think you certainly can! I know several MacKenzie’s and I don’t think it has ever been an issue for them.
I have a friend whose parents couldn’t agree and gave her two first names but with a space between them. We went on holiday together and oh my goodness did it cause problems (is there a hyphen? no. Well then can’t be two names)
Putting them all together in one word, while not my personal taste, is better than that awkwardness when it comes to form filling - but as said earlier, capitals in the middle of words don’t always show up so check local registration rules and regulations.
If McKenzie or McKenna work, I guess MaryJo too.
I agree with previous posters; some people do use these names, but you may run into trouble on official documents.
I’ve only ever seen this in [name_m]Mac[/name_m] or Mc names, such as McKinley or McKenna.
My last name has two capital letters and I’ve never had an issue! [name_f]My[/name_f] legal first name is also two names with a space, two capital letters-- also have never had an issue! I think it’s totally fine!
