My brother and his girlfriend found out she was pregnant last month and the baby is due between [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] and [name_m]New[/name_m] Years (we know, SURPRISE!).
Currently little man only goes by [name_m]Thor[/name_m] thanks to my brother. [name_u]Baby[/name_u]'s mom and I love talking names but she can’t narrow it down. She likes [name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_u]Hunter[/name_u], [name_m]Ben[/name_m], [name_u]Hudson[/name_u], and [name_u]Jameson[/name_u]. Her grandfather’s name is [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] but she thinks that is too old school. She would also like a name to honor her grandmother, [name_f]Janet[/name_f]. Any ideas?
Also, his middle name is [name_m]Steven[/name_m] for my grandfather. Our last name ends in -er so [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] is mostly out because it sounds redundant.
Help us name our surprise [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] present!!!
Sounds like y our brother’s girlfriend has pretty similar name taste as I do - [name_u]Hunter[/name_u], [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m], [name_u]Hudson[/name_u] and [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] are all on my list for my little one, who is due shortly after [name_m]New[/name_m] Years.
[name_m]Bennett[/name_m] is becoming quite popular these days - not top ten or anything but people are definitely using it more lately. I think it’s a very nice name.
I personally have a [name_u]Parker[/name_u], a [name_m]Cole[/name_m] and an [name_m]Ethan[/name_m]. Other names I have liked/considered are - [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m], [name_m]Maddox[/name_m], [name_m]Maverick[/name_m], [name_m]Weston[/name_m], [name_u]Finn[/name_u], [name_m]Grayson[/name_m] and [name_u]Ashton[/name_u].
[name_f]Janet[/name_f] is a diminutive of [name_f]Jane[/name_f], and [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is a feminization of [name_m]John[/name_m]. [name_m]John[/name_m] also has a lot of different forms: [name_u]Evan[/name_u], [name_m]Jack[/name_m], [name_m]Sean[/name_m], [name_m]Johan[/name_m], [name_m]Zane[/name_m]. I think [name_f]Garnet[/name_f] could work as a sort of sound alike to honor a [name_f]Janet[/name_f], too.
I don’t think of [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] as dated at all! I think it is a good fit being a family name, similar to [name_f]Janet[/name_f] (?) and gets to [name_m]Ben[/name_m].
Maybe the [name_m]Bennet[/name_m] spelling as a nod to [name_f]Janet[/name_f].
What about [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]? Maybe, later on, he could be called [name_m]Thor[/name_m] since it’s a nickname for [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]. [name_f]Janet[/name_f] is a variation of [name_m]John[/name_m] according to Behind the Name. Meaning, origin and history of the name Janet - Behind the Name [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] sounds handsome imo. Congrats!
