First or Middle Name for August

[name]August[/name] is a family name on both sides of our family. We have a little boy due…in [name]August[/name]! First…is it silly to name him [name]August[/name] with an [name]August[/name] birthday? We have gone back and forth about this and just can’t decide. Second…we aren’t sure if we will call him [name]August[/name] (not using it as the name he would go by might limit the irony of [name]August[/name] in [name]August[/name]) but we can’t decide on a name to go with it! We have a 2 syllable “er” ending last name that starts with a vowel so the Carters and Olivers are unfortunately out.

Some options in no order…

[name]Henry[/name]
[name]Reed[/name] (family name)
[name]Clay[/name]
[name]Colton[/name]
[name]Carson[/name]
[name]Lawson[/name] (family name)
[name]Nathan[/name]
[name]Weston[/name] (familiy name)
[name]Cade[/name]
[name]James[/name]

Any additional ideas or combinations are welcome! Thanks!!

I like [name]August[/name] up front and in the middle

[name]August[/name] [name]Henry[/name]/ [name]Henry[/name] [name]August[/name]
[name]August[/name] [name]Reed[/name]

I really like [name]August[/name], and I dont think it is a problem given that he will be born in [name]August[/name]. Is your due date close the end or beginning of [name]August[/name]? You never know he might come a little early or late and then you wouldnt have to worry about an [name]August[/name] birthday. [name]August[/name] would make a nice middle name too.

[name]Henry[/name]- I love [name]Henry[/name] [name]August[/name]
[name]Reed[/name] (family name)- I prefer this as a mn.
[name]Clay[/name]- I dont like this one.
[name]Colton[/name]- Too cowboy for my taste.
[name]Carson[/name]- eh, this one doesnt do it for me. It seems completly opposite in style from [name]August[/name].
[name]Lawson[/name] (family name)- [name]Henry[/name] [name]Lawson[/name] would be nice.
[name]Nathan[/name]- Nice solid name.
[name]Weston[/name] (familiy name)- [name]Weston[/name] [name]Reed[/name] maybe?
[name]Cade[/name]- Too trendy for my taste, plus I hear [name]Caden[/name] way to often.
[name]James[/name]- [name]Lovely[/name] name. [name]James[/name] [name]Henry[/name] or [name]Henry[/name] [name]James[/name] would be nice.

I like [name]Henry[/name] and [name]August[/name] the best from your list.

[name]Hi[/name]! I love the name [name]August[/name]! You’re so lucky it’s a family name for you! (And for what it’s worth, I don’t think it’s at all odd to name an [name]August[/name] baby [name]August[/name].)

From your list, my favorites are [name]Henry[/name] [name]August[/name] (every name will have two syllables, but I don’t think it’s that big of a deal) and [name]James[/name] [name]August[/name].

I’m not sure if it’s an option for you, but I thought you may also like [name]Augustin[/name] as a first name.

[name]August[/name] is the front runner name I have picked out for our son due in [name]June[/name]. I prefer to call him [name]August[/name]-not [name]Augie[/name] or [name]Gus[/name]- [name]Do[/name] you think this name is hard to pronounce when you say " Is that [name]August[/name]'s?"
