First Paragraph In Your Stories

Inspired by @GhostWriter9580’s First Lines Of Your Stories thread.

This is where you can share the first paragraph in your stories.

Here are a couple of mine:

The Guard Of Dosta Book #1: It was a day on which [name_f]Kaylee[/name_f] Sutton’s life could change forever. Of course, every day was a day like that, she had to keep reminding herself. But this day was truly special. Because she had been sixteen for nearly five months. And she had not yet gotten her [name_m]Guardian[/name_m].

The [name_f]Princess[/name_f] And Her Servant Chapter 1: There was a cloud of crows flying circles around the palace, their caws filling the morning air. But, then again, that wasn’t really a surprise. If there was one thing that one could count on hearing there, it was the crows.

The Twice-Cursed [name_f]Princess[/name_f]: It was a sunny day, the kind on which it was hard for anyone to stay in a bad mood. Of course, in the kingdom of Valon, there was one major exception. Her name was [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Lunette[/name_f] [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Starleen[/name_f] [name_f]Alula[/name_f] [name_f]Thallo[/name_f] and she was miserable. [name_u]Sun[/name_u], clouds, snow, or rain, [name_f]Summer[/name_f], [name_f]Autumn[/name_f], [name_u]Winter[/name_u], or [name_f]Spring[/name_f], she was miserable through every hour of every day and every night. It wasn’t because she desired misery. In fact, she hated it. But, it was something that she had learned to live with.

Eligible: It was a usual day in the [name_m]Fairbairn[/name_m] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] Herd. [name_m]Young[/name_m] Pegasi were practicing their flying, birds were singing, there wasn’t a cloud in the sky, and, as usual, Alistair’s wife was flustered about something.

Trouble at [name_u]Saint[/name_u] [name_m]Emmanuel[/name_m]:

[name_m]Thursday[/name_m], [name_u]November[/name_u] 30, 2017

Tahamine stepped out of the cold end-of-November weather and through the sliding glass doors of [name_u]Saint[/name_u] [name_m]Emmanuel[/name_m] [name_m]General[/name_m] Hospital. After showing her ID to the receptionist in the waiting area, she got her visitor’s pass, then took the elevator up to the trauma patient unit. After the elevator reached said floor, she stepped out of the elevator and headed for the room where her son was. She opened the door and, upon seeing her still-recovering son being checked on by Dr. Jaeger, quickly entered and sat down in the chair next to Arslan’s bed, taking his hand.

The Ghosts In The Attic: There was something peculiar about the old house. [name_f]Emilynn[/name_f] could sense it from the moment she walked through the red front door. She felt like something didn’t want her there. Like she was invading someone’s home and they knew it. It was as if the house itself were willing her to turn around and go back to the city.

City Of Goblins: [name_u]Thunder[/name_u] crashed. The storm was close. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] needed to find shelter, or else she’d be soaked. [name_u]Or[/name_u] worse, struck by lightning. She shuddered and quickly put that thought out of her mind. No time to be pessimistic.

[name_f]Eira[/name_f] [name_u]Ivory[/name_u] And [name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] [name_f]Arusha[/name_f] (aka Masalterra #2): “Girls,” Head Protector [name_m]Marcus[/name_m] [name_m]Jospin[/name_m] said, his face grim. “I know that I made a promise years ago that you would never be separated…”

A Tale Of Sorrow And Woe (currently the first paragraph): [name_f]Claudia[/name_f] limped toward him as quickly as she could. She had hoped to have the chance to kill this villain when she was in perfect health, but she wasn’t going to postpone her revenge because of a twisted ankle. She unsheathed her sword and shouted “Prepare to die, you killer!”
