We found out our little bundle is a healthy boy! Now I really want to crack down on our list. The last few weeks I told him to find the best 10 names for each gender that he would use on a child. I also made a list of 10 names each. I figured the best way to start off narrowing down names is to cut the entire thing in half. It would be nice for you nameberries to write what the best 10 names are from this list. I put who’s list it was on next to the name so you can get a feel for the style we tend to lean towards. You may add why or why not you picked the name as a top 10 contender. Our last name is Arches. So please it is sounds really numb with our last name let me know. Sometimes you don’t see it till someone else points it out.
[name_u]Asa[/name_u] was totally going to make my list until I heard your surname! [name_u]Asa[/name_u] Arches sounds a wee bit cartoonish for me. Not just because of the alliteration–there are just too many repetitive sounds. My ten favorites:

The more s in name the harder it becomes for children to say. My dad had problems with his name as a kid, because his first name and last name prominently end in s sounds. He had a lisp and it was hard to pronounce his name and he had trouble saying his first and last name.
