[name_f]My[/name_f] SO and I have decided on the first name [name_u]Camden[/name_u], thats not what I need help on. It’s set in stone. But his last names are making it hard to come up with a middle name. His last names are [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travers[/name_m]. So, [name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travers[/name_m]. Nothing sounds right in the middle. I tried my brothers middle name and dads and relatives for significance, but nothing is quite “flowing.” Any help would be appreciated ladies. Cause my SO just isn’t help. Unless he’s vetoing.
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] sounds fine.
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_m]Elijah[/name_m]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_m]Zane[/name_m]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_m]Liam[/name_m]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]August[/name_u]
I think that as long as you avoid a two-syllable name ending in -er, there isn’t much that doesn’t go with the first and last name. Oh, and I’d avoid anything long (either in syllables or letters).
That’s what I was going to go with, [name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u]! And he hated it. [name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travers[/name_m]. And he didn’t like [name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travers[/name_m] either. Sigh. I love your choices though! Thank you.
Have you considered no middle name? [name_f]My[/name_f] Brother in law and his wife loved [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] but couldn’t find a middle name they loved. So they named her simply [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_m]Meyer[/name_m](their last name). I thought it was odd, but they looked into it. It is very unique because most decided to give a middle name. I would just be concerned that people would think [name_u]Walker[/name_u] is his middle name, not part of his last name.
Here are some suggestions, I’d keep it short because his name is so long as is:
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]Jay[/name_u] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travis[/name_m]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_m]Abner[/name_m] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travis[/name_m] or [name_m]Avner[/name_m]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_m]Alec[/name_m] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travis[/name_m]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_m]Alan[/name_m] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travis[/name_m] or [name_m]Allan[/name_m]/[name_m]Allen[/name_m]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travis[/name_m] or [name_u]Dillon[/name_u]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]Max[/name_u]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_m]Scott[/name_m]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_m]Joel[/name_m]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_m]Leo[/name_m]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_m]Levi[/name_m]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]Reed[/name_u]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_m]Grant[/name_m]
I was going to suggest [name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] too. [name_m]How[/name_m] about:
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_m]George[/name_m] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travers[/name_m]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travers[/name_m]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travers[/name_m]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_m]Phillip[/name_m] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travers[/name_m]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travers[/name_m]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_m]Robert[/name_m] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travers[/name_m]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]Reid[/name_u] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travers[/name_m]
I actually am considering no middle name. Because it’s becoming irritating and I feel like they’ll never be agreement. I’m even thinking of changing [name_u]Camden[/name_u]. I recently moved from [name_u]Tennessee[/name_u] to Pennsylvania and I’m being informed of a city close to me [name_u]Camden[/name_u], NJ. And I’m not liking the association. Sigh. I want it to start with C still, so I guess ill keep looking for a first name now. Thank you ladies, I appreciate it greatly.
I like the name without a middle. With a middle name there’s too much and it takes away from the names you already have.
I think so too. If I use camden, I may just not do a middle name. Or I may do [name_u]Lee[/name_u]. SO’s late grand dads middle name. [name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travers[/name_m].
It’s stressful!! I hope you find something that works. I personally love [name_u]Camden[/name_u]. I once knew a [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] whose friends nicknamed him Camdana. It was so cute!! Any [name_u]Cam[/name_u] name i hear immediately makes me think of that!! If you love the name do not change it. I can see why it’d be bothersome to live near a city of your kids name. But when he gets older he might love having a city “named after him”.
Here are some other C names to give you some inspiration:
[name_u]Campbell[/name_u]
[name_m]Caelan[/name_m]
[name_m]Caiden[/name_m]/[name_m]Caden[/name_m]
[name_m]Callahan[/name_m]
[name_m]Carsten[/name_m]
[name_m]Chance[/name_m]
[name_m]Chad[/name_m]
[name_m]Collin[/name_m]
[name_m]Colton[/name_m]/[name_m]Cole[/name_m]
[name_m]Cooper[/name_m]
[name_u]Carter[/name_u]
[name_u]Carson[/name_u]/[name_u]Carsen[/name_u]
Thank you, im trying to disassociate it for now. I love [name_u]Camden[/name_u]. So much. You guys are so helpful! Thank you, I love the alternative C names. Ill have to keep those in case thank you so much!
Eeek as a [name_u]Philadelphia[/name_u] native, I would avoid naming your son [name_u]Camden[/name_u] if you live anywhere near the city. It is definitely not a positive association. And it’s a well known city, too, so most people in the area will definitely “go there” right away.
It’s a shame, though, because it’s a perfectly nice name otherwise.
I asked all of my sos family members here and nobody’s heard of it…we live in Harrisburg. I was told by someone who lives in VA actually. Its a shame. I plan on raising him back in TN though. So i’m not too concerned. No worse than people naming their child [name_f]Tuesday[/name_f] Or [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] or Vagina, but I digress. I’m debating. It does suck to have something so silly affect a name so much.
If you’re concerned about the city association, have you thought about using [name_u]Camden[/name_u] as a middle name? You can still use the name you love and I doubt people would automatically think you “named him after” [name_u]Camden[/name_u], NJ.
Suggestions:
[name_m]Jonah[/name_m] [name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travers[/name_m]

[name_m]Robert[/name_m] [name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travers[/name_m]

[name_m]Dawson[/name_m] [name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travers[/name_m]
[name_u]Hunter[/name_u] [name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travers[/name_m]
[name_u]Bryce[/name_u] [name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travers[/name_m]
[name_u]Seth[/name_u] [name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travers[/name_m]
[name_m]Fredrick[/name_m] [name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travers[/name_m]
[name_m]Judah[/name_m] [name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travers[/name_m]
[name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] [name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]Walker[/name_u] [name_m]Travers[/name_m]
[name_m]Joel[/name_m] [name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travers[/name_m]
You could always go with just a letter in the middle as well. I know several people who only have an initial in that spot.
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] L. [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travers[/name_m]
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] J. [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travers[/name_m] (gives the option of C.J. or [name_u]Jay[/name_u] as nn’s too!)
That’s a good idea to do an initial, cause if I use [name_u]Camden[/name_u] I want it as the first name. But I think [name_u]Lee[/name_u] is what I’m going with.
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]Walker[/name_u] [name_m]Travers[/name_m] {your surname as a middle} would be my pick.
I don’t think [name_u]Camden[/name_u] would be bad if you are raising him in TN and away from NJ and MD. [name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]Lee[/name_u] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travis[/name_m] would work well. I also like apollonia’s suggestion.
[name_f]My[/name_f] last name is [name_u]Harper[/name_u]. I felt is was kind of rough or strong for it. But I actually am gonna bring up that idea to my SO. Thank you guys.
[name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] [name_u]Walker[/name_u]-[name_m]Travers[/name_m]! I love [name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]! Or [name_u]Camden[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u]!
