[name]Florence[/name] is one of the few family names on my husband’s side that I actually kinda like, but I’m not sure if I’m brave enough to use it. I ran across [name]Flora[/name], which I’d never considered, and thought it might be a good way to honor the family member without commiting to the entirely old-lady feel of [name]Florence[/name]. Which do you like best?
Also, would you use it in the first or middle name? Here are a few ideas I’d thought of:
I love both, but am partial to names that don’t end an A, as a-endings are so overwhelmingly popular, and in general girl names are less diverse sounding than boy names, because of that whole A-thing, where as [name]Florence[/name] has an ending we don’t get too often.
But both are gorgeous, and I like all of your choices.
I really love [name]Flora[/name]!
[name]Flora[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] is lovely vintage. [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Florence[/name] is also very beautiful
I know I’ve said this in other threads so I apologize if anyone thinks I sound like a broken record, but several years ago I met a DARLING one-year-old girl, so petite and with a big flower hairband on her little head, and her given name was [name]Florrie[/name]. Melted my heart.
I love the name [name]Florence[/name] with the nn [name]Flossie[/name]! It is one of my favorites because of the [name]Romance[/name] of the city of [name]Florence[/name] too! Beautiful!
I prefer [name]Florence[/name] to [name]Flora[/name] but both names would be fine to honour a [name]Florence[/name]. Vintage names are getting more popular as some parents want something different and unexpected in this modern age of Jaydens and Madisons. [name]Florence[/name] is more popular in [name]Britain[/name] than [name]North[/name] [name]America[/name] probably due to the Prime Mininster naming his daughter this name. I like all of your combos: [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Florence[/name], [name]Flora[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Flora[/name] in that order.
I think both are lovely but personally I like [name]Flora[/name] a bit better. It sounds so sweet and feminine and [name]Flora[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] flows very nicely.
[name]Flora[/name]! [name]Just[/name] a beautiful name and not common while [name]Florence[/name] is having a middle class fashion moment in the UK at the moment, I know two PLUS the Prime Minister’s daughter, possibly connected to the [name]Florence[/name] Nightingale anniversary a few years back.
[name]Flora[/name] [name]Catherine[/name] gets my vote. [name]Flora[/name] is much more unexpected than [name]Elizabeth[/name](though both are great) and would honor [name]Florence[/name] in a bit more obvious way without having the old lady image
[name]FLORENCE[/name]! So much better than [name]Flora[/name] but if you must you could use [name]Flora[/name] as a nm.
[name]Florence[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]
[name]Florence[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Florence[/name] [name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Florence[/name] [name]Emma[/name]
