Flora - what do you think?

Since I heard of the story of [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_m]MacDonald[/name_m], I’ve been thinking about this name. What do you think?

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Flora[/name_f]! So dainty and girly and sweet!

I really like the name [name_f]Flora[/name_f]. I think it would fit in, but stand out at the same time. It is a great stand-alone name but also a pretty nn for [name_f]Florence[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Flora[/name_f] too! Very pretty and has the power to age well

I absolutely love [name_f]Flora[/name_f] its beautiful, vintage, and sweet. However, my family tells me it is unusable because they associate it with bacteria. :frowning:

[name_f]Flora[/name_f] is absolutely adorable. My only problem with it is that it sounds much better in English than in my language!

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Flora[/name_f]. It’s short and sweet, airy and elegant.

[name_f]Flora[/name_f] is such a beautiful name. If anyone is worried about the bacteria association (I wouldn’t be, personally), then her official name could be [name_f]Florentina[/name_f] and you can just call her [name_f]Flora[/name_f] yourself (or [name_f]Florence[/name_f], but [name_f]Florentina[/name_f] is better to get [name_f]Flora[/name_f] from because it has the ‘a’). I honestly never thought of the bacteria… but isn’t it healthy anyway? Something you need to ingest and maintain to survive? So, good thing, then.

As a rare name lover, I think it’s slightly sad that [name_f]Flora[/name_f] is beginning to be noticed more and more often but, at the same, time, how could it not be? [name_f]Flora[/name_f] is an absolutley gorgeous, stunning, vibrant girl name. It’s feminine but it’s not prissy, it’s elegant but it’s not pretentious. And even though it’s only two syllables long, I think that it does a pretty amazing job at capturing your attention, more so than your average [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] or [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], at least. Plus, it’s a goddess’ name, which is a pretty powerful connotation, but not an overwhelming one. And doubling as a floral name, I personally think that it’s a little more sophisticated in comparison to your average [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f].

Overall, it’s awesome! Absolutely, positutely, undisputably AWESOME!

I love [name_f]Flora[/name_f]!! I have an adorable little neighbor named this, and love the reference to Cold [name_u]Comfort[/name_u] Farm, too.

[name_f]Lovely[/name_f], though I prefer it as a middle name - too popular for me as a first!

[name_f]Flora[/name_f] is so pretty… My neice’s mddlename!

It’s feminine, and gives a calm vibe

[name_f]Flora[/name_f] is lovely, beautiful and sweet but with a spunky undertone to it. I have a good friend who named her daughter this and her daughter is a perfect combination of sweet and sassy. I absolutely love [name_f]Flora[/name_f] as well as [name_f]Florence[/name_f].
