Florence as a Gothic esque name for a MALE character?

I want to hear opinions

Yes! Bring back [name_m]Florence[/name_m] for boys!

You can do it as a male name, I think it’d be fun for a character – especially with a nickname – but it doesn’t have a Gothic feel to me!

To me [name_f]Florence[/name_f] for boys has [name_f]British[/name_f] Gothic feel

In complete honesty, hearing a gothic boy was named [name_f]Florence[/name_f] would make me assume he was effeminate- not that there’s anything wrong with that, but unless he’s quite masculine, then it might be a problem.

Me too! A little like Tarquin or Quentin. I immediately got a goth boy image in my mind imagining a Florence - intellectual and scowly! It just seems to work.

Agreed, and Evelyn, please!

Yes to the sound but I’d go for [name_f]Florens[/name_f] or [name_m]Florent[/name_m] myself. Those variants feel more distinguished from [name_f]Florence[/name_f] and the cottage core style.
