Hey!
I was just wondering what you all thought of the name [name_f]Florine[/name_f]?
also, what would you name a sister to [name_f]Florine[/name_f]? Would something like [name_f]Philomena[/name_f] or [name_f]Philomene[/name_f] ([name_f]Philomene[/name_f] is french and is pronounced Fil-Oh-Menne with an accent grave on the first e) work? A possible nickname for [name_f]Philomene[/name_f] would be Filou (Fil-ooh)
thanks xx
While I do think it is a very pretty name ([name_f]Philomene[/name_f] and [name_f]Philomena[/name_f] are great!), it is a little too close to fluorine for my liking.
[name_f]Florine[/name_f] is a nice name , i think it would go well with a [name_f]Sister[/name_f] named [name_f]Philomena[/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] thoughts exactly. Too elemental! I much prefer [name_f]Flora[/name_f] or [name_f]Florence[/name_f].
The fluorine homophone ruins it for me. That said, I love [name_f]Flor[/name_f]- names and if I didn’t have that association I’d love it. I had a great-aunt [name_u]Florentine[/name_u] and I like that, [name_f]Florence[/name_f], and [name_f]Flora[/name_f] so much that I’m not too upset that I couldn’t use [name_f]Florine[/name_f].
I think that any of the [name_f]Flor[/name_f]- names would make a perfect sister for [name_f]Philomena[/name_f] or [name_f]Philomene[/name_f], including [name_f]Florine[/name_f] if the fluorine thing doesn’t bother you. Filou is darling.
I can only think of fluorine. I love chemistry, and I actually quite like other element names, but I’m not a fan. [name_f]Florence[/name_f] or [name_u]Florentine[/name_u] would be nice.
I thought of fluorine too, as well as fluoride and chlorine. I would prefer [name_f]Florence[/name_f] or another of the [name_f]Flor[/name_f]- variant names. [name_f]Florence[/name_f] and [name_f]Philomena[/name_f] or [name_f]Flora[/name_f] and [name_f]Philomena[/name_f] would be lovely.
[name_f]Florine[/name_f] is an alright name. I pronounce it like [name_f]Floor[/name_f] Een. But it sounds like Flooring. It also reminds me of the mouth wash…
