Florrymonde?

I came across the name Florrymonde (prosperous protection)… usable or not?

I love the sound! I would spell it more like Florimund, though. Florrymonde just seems a bit over-the-top, whereas Florimund or Florimond is more natural, like [name_f]Florence[/name_f] and [name_f]Flora[/name_f]. Nice meaning!

I see it has being very masculine, especially when look up people who actually wore the name, mostly men. I like the Florimond/Florimund spelling too. I suppose if you wanted an over the top name Florrymonde would get you their fast. Although you could pair it with a simple middle name like [name_f]Jane[/name_f] or [name_f]Anne[/name_f] to tone it down. I like the meaning too, one of the reason why it appeals to me.

Not a fan- it seems made-up and the “florry” part reminds me of dental floss or flurries (light snow). I’d love Faramond or [name_u]Florian[/name_u] for a boy though.

I would say no. Florimund or Florimond could be usable in the middle, but the Florrymonde spelling is a bit of a mess. And it was a man’s name, so…

Not usable. Maybe as a middle.

I feel that way too, its a man’s name. I did however find some women bearing this name which made me wonder if people today would see it differently…
