Would it be a bad idea to have a flower first name and one for a middle name BUT with a name in between? E.g [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. [name_m]Both[/name_m] my kids have 2 middle names and this baby will too but a lot of names I like are flower names!
I wouldn’t suggest it. It does seem really floral. [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] wouldn’t be bad, because I think of [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] as more of a plant than a flower, but [name_f]Lily[/name_f] _____ [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Lily[/name_f] _____ [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is probably too much (although it’s probably really hypocritical of me to say so, because I can easily see me using [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] “[name_f]Lily[/name_f]” and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] (and [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] as middles!) if there were a few babies in between. I don’t think I’d do more than one in a combo, though. I do two middles, too, and I can’t really see me doing [name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] (although, now that I write that, I really love it!) or [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] (again, ugh, now I want to use it!). Maybe it’s just because those combos are more my style, and [name_f]Anne[/name_f] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] seem almost filler, so they don’t seem to create as much of a space as something like [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] or [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] would?
It could be worse. I don’t mind overly floral names, so maybe it’s just me. [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] sounds the best. (I would par [name_f]Lily[/name_f] with something longer, [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] or [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Marielle[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] or [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]).
Thanks I was just using those names as examples rather than actual combos I like
I don’t think it’s a problem at all! I love nature names.
I think some names would work and others may not. I have [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] in my top 3. Very close to [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. I think both are lovely. Off the top of my head, [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] or [name_f]Lavender[/name_f] [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] do not seem to work as well, in my opinion. Play around with the names, call them out several times, and let others call them out.
