Flynn: is it climbing up the lists?

I just came across the name [name]Flynn[/name] and kind of love it:) But I noticed that [name]Orlando[/name] Bloom named his kid [name]Flynn[/name] and there are several characters on the Disney channel with the name. So do you all think it is going to gain popularity? I was liking it because it seemed unique.

I definitely think it is.
Not to mention of the character in the Disney Movie Tangled: [name]Flynn[/name] [name]Rider[/name].

It’ll be booming in a few years.

I love [name]Flynn[/name] too. Much prefer it to [name]Finn[/name]. But I do think it’s climbing up the charts.
I read in an online newspaper article that it was the most popular boys name in a uk hospital (I think one in Liverpool) since the beginning of this year. :frowning:

I love [name]Flynn[/name] but can’t use it as I know too many people with it as a surname :frowning: I think its really handsome though, and I don’t see it becoming trendy any time soon.

I love [name]Flynn[/name]! I do think it’ll grow in popularity, but I doubt it’ll ever be huge. It’s not even listed on the SSA list right now. I think most will instinctively opt for [name]Finn[/name] instead–it seems so much more mainstream and accessible. Despite [name]Flynn[/name] [name]Rider[/name] and [name]Orlando[/name] Bloom’s son, I’ve only come across one family that plans to use it, either as a FN or a MN. They plan to name their son [name]Flynn[/name] [name]Asher[/name], I believe–a little brother to [name]Ava[/name] [name]Kyleigh[/name]. I think it’s a refreshing choice! And you’d be ahead of the popularity curve if you use it now, I think (although I can’t see it getting much more popular than the 500 mark, if that!).

[name]Flynn[/name] is top 100 in some Australian states and top 10 in some regional areas according to Waltzing More Than [name]Matilda[/name].

I think if you combine it with [name]Flyn[/name], [name]Finn[/name], [name]Finlay[/name], [name]Finley[/name] etc then it will be a name that feels more popular than it actually is.

[name]Flynn[/name] has a bit of a history in Australian culture though due to [name]Errol[/name] [name]Flynn[/name] and the saying ‘In like [name]Flynn[/name]’ so it may rank higher here than other parts of the globe.

As a 29 year old female [name]Flynn[/name] I can attest to the greatness of this name  I’ve always received compliments for it, and think its a strong, unique but not too out there name. I’m also very glad that there are a few more Flynns out there so people know it more and no longer pronounce it ‘Fly-in’. Go for it! It beats [name]Finn[/name] hands down

If I didn’t dislike [name]Errol[/name] [name]Flynn[/name]'s real life persona so much I would rank it higher, as it is I prefer [name]Finn[/name] and [name]Finian[/name]/[name]Finnian[/name] and [name]Finnegan[/name].

But I think [name]Flynn[/name] will be booming in a few years. And I liked it more before I read up on ol’ [name]Errol[/name]. If I could just disassociate it from him I might go back to liking it.

I’m named after [name]John[/name] [name]Flynn[/name], who founded the [name]Royal[/name] Flying [name]Doctor[/name] Service in Australia- a far better role model than [name]Errol[/name]!!
