I just found the name [name]Zephyr[/name] and really like it. But our last name ends in -Er . Is that bad??
It doesn’t sound as good to have the endings the same, but I don’t think that should be reason to toss out a name. My last name ends in -an and so many of my favorite boy names end in -en or -an. I finally decided that if I find a name I love, who cares how well it flows with my last name (so long as it doesn’t just sound ridiculous). He will only have his first and last name said together occasionally, and I don’t feel like a name has to be a work of art. So long as I love the name, flow isn’t that big of a deal for me.
It depends on the names and syllables [name]IMO[/name], sometimes it sounds really good together! For instance I like [name]Meredith[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] and they end the same way but a name like [name]Harper[/name] [name]Parker[/name] doesnt sound good to me.
This exactly. Also, the middle name will break up the flow and anything formal will include his middle name.
I agree with txbelle, it depends on the names and syllables… 1st one I thought of is [name]Benjamin[/name] Button. I wouldn’t do [name]Ethan[/name] Button because of the similar sounds and syllables.
Ok, so it would be [name]Zephyr[/name], last name pronounced say ger
(I don’t want to actually type it out in case of Internet searches)
What do you think?
My fn and ln both start with K and end with an -in/-en sound. I rather like it, it gives my name a sing-song quality. I don’t think [name]Zephyr[/name] [name]Say[/name] ger is awful, and if you love it, use it.
I worry more about the last syllable of the first name and the first syllable of the last name sounding too similar than about the ending being similar. For example, I think [name]Zephyr[/name] Riker would be horrible because of the R at the beginning, not at the end! But [name]Zephyr[/name] [name]Booker[/name] would be fine IMHO.
I think that’s fine.
I don’t think [name]Zephyr[/name] “say ger” sounds bad, but if you are worried about it, have you heard of/considered [name]Zephyrine[/name]? It’s French and a pretty option for a girl (I’m just assuming you’re considering [name]Zephyr[/name] for a girl, since you didn’t say - obviously [name]Zephyrine[/name] wouldn’t work too well for a boy, haha).
