One of my favorite stories of all time is the story of [name_m]Ben[/name_m] Hur, and, after finally getting around to seeing the new remake of the book/film, I realized how much I like the idea of having both [name_m]Judah[/name_m] AND Messala on my list for both characters. [name_m]Judah[/name_m] is firmly ensconced on my list (my combo is [name_m]Judah[/name_m] [name_u]Theophile[/name_u] [name_u]Grey[/name_u]), but I’d never thought of adding Messala until now.
So far, I like [name_m]Jack[/name_m] Messala (one in a long list of [name_m]Jack[/name_m] combos I really like right now, including [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Gulliver[/name_m], [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Solomon[/name_m], and [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]), [name_m]Boaz[/name_m] Messala (although this is a lot of unusual name, and I’m not sure I like it more than [name_m]Boaz[/name_m] [name_m]Andreas[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m], which is my current combo), and maybe [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] Messala (also a lot of unusual). Any ideas for a FN for Messala? It’s said just like it looks, meh-SAH-lah. I’ve noticed I like “B” names with Messala, but that’s certainly not a requisite.
Thanks, @jariel and @morning_glory! So far, I like [name_m]Bjorn[/name_m] Messala, [name_m]Henry[/name_m] Messala, [name_m]Julian[/name_m] Messala, [name_u]Ari[/name_u] Messala (!!!), and [name_u]Bo[/name_u] Messala (although not as much as [name_m]Boaz[/name_m] Messala, I think) the best. I’m also thinking about [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] Messala?
Anyone else? I do really like [name_m]Jack[/name_m] Messala and [name_m]Boaz[/name_m] Messala, but I’m not sure they’d ever really “make it” to the list, as I can’t see me giving up [name_m]Boaz[/name_m] [name_m]Andreas[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m], and I think I like [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Gulliver[/name_m], [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Solomon[/name_m], etc., better than [name_m]Jack[/name_m] Messala.
@columbiacharm - thank you for your suggestions! I appreciate your effort. Though I’m not sure about [name_u]Eden[/name_u] Messala (I like it, but I can’t see me with an [name_u]Eden[/name_u]), but I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the idea of Messala [name_u]Eden[/name_u] as a double-middle. I guess I’d need a family first, then? I suppose [name_m]Jack[/name_m] Messala [name_u]Eden[/name_u] or [name_m]Boaz[/name_m] Messala [name_u]Eden[/name_u] would work, but, again, [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Gulliver[/name_m] and [name_m]Boaz[/name_m] [name_m]Andreas[/name_m].
[name_u]Bailey[/name_u] Messala is tempting me–I love [name_u]Bailey[/name_u] SO much, but sort of went off my middles for him ([name_m]Aaron[/name_m]/[name_u]Elias[/name_u]/[name_m]Alexander[/name_m]/[name_m]Oscar[/name_m]), so I sort of let him go. I also really want to like [name_m]Amias[/name_m] Messala, but it seems sort of tongue twistery, with all those vowels, Ms and Ss. I’m intrigued by [name_m]Soren[/name_m] Messala, [name_u]Remy[/name_u] Messala, and [name_u]Auden[/name_u] Messala, too. Particularly [name_u]Auden[/name_u] Messala! I like the idea of something short–one or two syllables–like these.
