FN vs FN + LN

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all,

I’m changing my name and I need your advice. My name is incredibly popular for my age group (think [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f]) but it sounds fine with my last name. I don’t like my FN and I want to pick smth else, yet the only name I love for myself sounds kinda funny with my last name (think [name_f]Arianna[/name_f] [name_u]Santana[/name_u]).

What should I do — change my name to “[name_f]Arianna[/name_f]” even though it sort of clashes with my last name or leave “[name_f]Jennifer[/name_f]”, the name that I hate, because it sounds better with my LN? Please do NOT suggest any other names, I’m torn between these two options.

I think I would change my name even if it somewhat clashes with my surname. But before doing so I’d have to be 100% of the name I’m choosing for myself! :slight_smile: good luck

[name_m]How[/name_m] often will people call you ‘[name_f]Arianna[/name_f] [name_u]Santana[/name_u]’? Not often - you’ll introduce yourself once and after that people will call you ‘[name_f]Arianna[/name_f]’! Which is beautiful, and if it makes you happier, you should go for it!

I’d say change your name to “[name_f]Arianna[/name_f]”, but only if you’re 100% sure of the name.

I would say change your first name. Its better to have a name you love.
