What do you think of [name]Hermione[/name] and [name]Magnolia[/name] for twin girls? Is it too I heavy (herm[name]Ione[/name], magnolIa)? I was thinking…
They sound so sweet and well-matched! I don’t think it’s too much “I,” esp. since the two are pronounced differently: Her-MY-own-ee and [name]Mag[/name]-nol-EE-ah. I think the sounds complement one another really well Since both first names are long (4 syllables, I think they warrant shorter middles. While I think [name]Grace[/name] is a little overused in the middle, I think it sounds best with [name]Hermione[/name]. [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Mabel[/name] or [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Fable[/name] have a great ring, too! I like the other MN options for both, but they add so much length to girls’ names… ([name]Hermione[/name] [name]Cornelia[/name] is 8 whole syllables without the last name!) Perhaps another one of these shorter names would work in the middle?
[name]Hermione[/name] [name]Louise[/name] (I love [name]Louisa[/name] but shortening the name by a syllable sounds better to me…)
[name]Hermione[/name] [name]Vera[/name] (I like Vair-a instead of [name]Veer[/name]-a here)
[name]Hermione[/name] [name]Wren[/name]
[name]Hermione[/name] [name]Marin[/name]/[name]Maret[/name]
[name]Hermione[/name] [name]Greer[/name]
[name]Hermione[/name] [name]Belle[/name]
[name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Faye[/name]
[name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Tess[/name]
[name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Eve[/name]
[name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Maeve[/name] (I like the alliteration of [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Mabel[/name], and think this is very sweet, too)
[name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Wynn[/name]
[name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Nell[/name]
I think those are lovely names, and compliment each other nicely! Since both are 4 syllables long, I’d opt for a short, 1-2 syllable middle name, such as: [name]Hermione[/name] [name]May[/name] and [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Pearl[/name], or [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Claire[/name] and [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]June[/name].
I really like [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Louisa[/name] and [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] ([name]Louisa[/name] [name]May[/name] [name]Alcott[/name], and [name]Josephine[/name] [name]March[/name]?) or [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Rose[/name] and [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Grace[/name] - I like how both combos have the same number of syllables, and [name]Grace[/name] starts with the third letter of [name]Magnolia[/name], and [name]Rose[/name] starts with the third letter of [name]Hermione[/name].
I must disagree with other posters. I dont think they are a good match at all. I love [name]Magnolia[/name], but [name]Hermione[/name] doesn’t have the same feminine girly feel.
I agree.
[name]Magnolia[/name] sounds so fresh and pretty, IMHO [name]Isabelle[/name] has that same flair and sounds gorgeous with it.
[name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Grace[/name] and [name]Isabelle[/name] [name]Hermione[/name] (nn [name]Maggie[/name] and [name]Belle[/name]/[name]Bella[/name])
[name]Hermione[/name] seems to me as a strong name whereas [name]Magnolia[/name] seems dainty and shy. I love this with twin names and think that they are gorgeous together! Especially if [name]Hermione[/name] has more of a feminine middle and [name]Magnolia[/name] more of an ambiguous or stronger middle. Out of what you’ve thought of I love [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Grace[/name] and Magnoila [name]Fable[/name].
My head’s not so good this morning which is a shame as I would love to think of some suggestions for you! All I’ve got is [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] & Magnoila [name]Wren[/name]. What do you think of them?
I love hearing others’ impressions of names! [name]Magnolia[/name] has always felt dusky and rooted and strong to me since magnolia trees aren’t remotely dainty looking, haha.
I [name]LOVE[/name] how honest you guys are being (because you can’t really get a straight answer from people your close to you know?)
ebonyeden- I like [name]Hermione[/name] [name]Josephine[/name], but I do have a long last name, so like others have pointed out, I think short mns are the way to go. I really like [name]Magnolia[/name] [name]Wren[/name] though! I agree with ellenelle, hearing other peoples opinions of names is very interesting. Thats why I love the nameberry forums!
