Which one do you prefer and why? I’m really crushing on these two!
I prefer [name_m]Forest[/name_m] over [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m]. The first imagine I have when I see or hear [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m] is [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m] the [name_f]Cat[/name_f]. I am also not fond of the sound. Sorry.
Is it coincidence that both names have “forest” meanings?
My current favorite “forest” name may be [name_m]Sylvan[/name_m] or Sylvanus. Out of the two you mention though, I prefer [name_m]Forest[/name_m]. [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m] is the [name_m]German[/name_m] name for [name_m]New[/name_m] Year’s [name_f]Eve[/name_f].
No it’s not a coincidence! We really love what forests represent and nature and think it’s gorgeous imagery. I hadn’t thought of [name_m]Sylvan[/name_m]… I quite like it.
I like [name_m]Forest[/name_m] over [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m] by a mile! I am also quite fond of the [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] spelling.
However I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the suggestion of [name_m]Sylvan[/name_m] - and that’s saying something since [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] is on my own shortlist!
I much prefer [name_m]Forest[/name_m]. I love [name_m]Sylvan[/name_m], it’s in my top 20!
[name_m]Forest[/name_m] is much more wearable.
[name_m]Forest[/name_m]! I just way prefer this over [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m], don’t really know why.
My maiden name is [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m], and we’ve considered using [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] as a name for a son (if we have one), as [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m] in Latin means [name_m]Forest[/name_m] or Woods.
I do really love both. The only reason we’d choose [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] over [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m] is to make the connection a little more indirect.
But both are beautiful

I really like [name_m]Forest[/name_m]. Its sweet, handsome and I can see it age well.I actually like it on both genders.
Iam not a fan of [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m]. It reminds me too much of the actor and the cartoon.

I don’t really like [name_m]Sylvester[/name_m] - It reminds me way too much of the cartoon cat (and he wasn’t a good character…) but I quite like [name_m]Forest[/name_m] I absolutely love the suggestion of [name_m]Sylvan[/name_m] - that’s beautiful!
[name_m]Sylvester[/name_m] and [name_m]Sylvan[/name_m] are gorgeous, I have come to think, but really I think [name_m]Forest[/name_m] stole my heart. Thank you for all of the feedback!
