Former Noblewoman needs an appropriate name

9: ‘DYSTOPIA’ Form

Time Period: Sometime around 2100.

Location: An island similar to that of Great [name_m]Britain[/name_m], currently unnamed as well.

What happened: I’m entertaining the idea of a Civil War or Natural Disasters. Unknown at this time.

What is society like now: It may seem like the country is ruled by the High [name_m]King[/name_m], but in fact is run by The Twelve behind the scenes. (Not that he knows it, he’s under the impression that they’re taking his suggestions in kind, when in fact they are feeding him the ideas.) The Royals have very little to no contact with Outcasts or the Unclaimed, except to give them sentencing/punish them for their crimes against the State. The [name_m]King[/name_m], his family, and The Twelve - and their families, all reside within a castle similar to that of Buckingham [name_m]Palace[/name_m]. It is surrounded by acres of land in the middle of the City.

You have the Nobles - based off of the Regency [name_f]Era[/name_f]'s [name_u]Gentry[/name_u] - who basically do as their told and keep to themselves and follow what the [name_m]King[/name_m]/The Twelve says. Under normal circumstances, the first born son (or daughter) becomes the Heir/Heiress of the family estate and any younger children attend the University to become scholars, philosophers, doctors/healers, or lawyers. Occasionally they may branch out to become Knights of the [name_m]King[/name_m]'s Guard, only the best make it more than six months - the highest position of which is [name_m]Captain[/name_m]. (Next in command is [name_m]Captain[/name_m] of the [name_m]Prince[/name_m]'s Guard, an esteemed position that is highly sought after.) The Nobles also have little contact with Outcasts/the Unclaimed, but they do employ them to do things about their homes and estates. Most are styled after the Plantations and Mansions of old, with plenty of acreage surrounding them. (Think ten to fifty acres, depending on how much money the family has.)

The Commons are the equivalent to today’s middle class, even if they are a little better off. These are your teachers, shop owners, and farmers. This is the class that is most unheard from in the novel, though few of them are noted to be kind to the Outcasts and the Unclaimed, sympathising with them more than with the [name_u]Gentry[/name_u]. They have been known to employ the lower classes as errand runners, delivery folk, and field hands when the crops come in. [I’m still working on developing this class more, as they will have a greater role to play later on.] Most live in apartments above their shops, but teachers have their own little two-story homes that are just too cute to pass up on. Farmers obviously live on farms just outside the City, most having only two to four acres to their names.

The Outcasts and the Unclaimed are the lower-middle class to the poor.

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you need us to make up names: Yes, Ancient Greek & [name_m]Roman[/name_m] themes are preferable.

Character Description: She is a strong-willed girl, about twenty-three years of age, and the daughter of the Former [name_m]Captain[/name_m] of the [name_m]King[/name_m]'s Guard. She was Unclaimed at the age of sixteen, after her mother committed suicide - or so everyone thinks. It was The Twelve that decided she should be Unclaimed, and so it was. [Telling you why she has become an Unclaimed would give away important plot details.] She has golden brown hair, similar to that of the color of honey, and is covered in freckles. She looks like her mother and carries a portrait of her in the locket she wears around her neck.

Brief Plot: Girl must embark on a journey to discover who exactly The Twelve are and where they come from and finds herself in the middle of a prophecy, and a war that she doesn’t want any part of.

Who named the character: Her [Former] [name_m]Captain[/name_m] of the [name_m]King[/name_m]'s Guard father and [name_u]Gentry[/name_u]/Noblewoman mother.

Immediate Family (if relevant): N/A at the moment, will edit/update when I figure out more.

Already Considered (if relevant): Rhyssa & Melpomene

[name_m]Don[/name_m]’t Suggest These Names: Ambrosine & Mnemosyne

Names of any other characters already in the story: [name_u]Galen[/name_u], [name_m]Matthias[/name_m], [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], [name_f]Brielle[/name_f], and [name_f]Amethyst[/name_f].

Anything else?: Her “Unclaimed” surname is d’Tempestas, so it would need to flow well with that.
